Job description

Propak Systems Ltd. is an established leader in engineering, fabrication, and construction of gas compression and processing facilities for the energy industry. We are currently seeking Apprentice Instrumentation Technicians to join our Fabrication Shops in Airdrie, AB.

We offer day, evening and weekend shifts with excellent premiums for evening and weekend day shifts. Key Responsibilities:

  • Layout, measure, bend, fabricate and install tubing, small piping and supports for utility, process and interment systems.
  • Install instrument air lines complete with valves.
  • Select tubing size, fittings and wall thickness according to project specifications.
  • Install control and measurement instruments on existing and new plant equipment and processes.
  • Consult manufacturer’s manuals, circuit diagrams and blueprints to install instruments used for measuring and controlling flow, level, pressure, temperature, chemical composition and other variables in manufacturing and processing.
  • Inspect and test operation of instruments and systems to diagnose faults using pneumatic, electrical and electronic testing devices and prevision measuring instruments.
  • Repair and adjust system components, such as sensors, transmitters and control valves, or remove and replace defective parts.
  • Calibrate components and instruments according to manufacturers’ specifications.

Qualifications:

  • Be eligible for registration as a registered apprentice; or
  • Be a registered apprentice.
  • Motivated and willing to learn.
  • As a condition of employment, employees are required, upon hire, to sign a Drug-Free Workplace Agreement, a Conflict of Interest Agreement and Confidentiality and Invention Agreement.
