About the Role
Moeller Aerospace is seeking a skilled Work Holding / Fixture Builder with a passion for delivering precision solutions that enable perfect parts, on time. We offer a clean, organized, well-lit, temperature controlled, modern manufacturing environment. This role supports production by designing, building, modifying, and maintaining fixtures and work holding solutions used in CNC machining operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Design, build, modify, and repair work holding fixtures, jigs, and tooling to support CNC machining operations.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and process documentation to develop effective work holding solutions.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers, CNC Programmers, Machinists, and Quality to optimize fixture design for accuracy, repeatability, safety, and cycle time.
  • Perform precision layout, machining, fitting, assembly, and finishing of fixture components.
  • Use manual and CNC machine tools (mills, lathes, grinders, drill presses, etc.) to manufacture fixture components.
  • Perform first piece, in process, and final inspection of fixture components using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, indicators, and CMM equipment.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by recommending fixture and process enhancements.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repair on fixtures and related tooling.
  • Maintain workstation and tool areas to 5S standards.
  • Perform all work according to Company safety standards.

Requirements
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T.
  • Proficiency with precision measuring equipment, optical comparators, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
  • Solid understanding of machining principles, cutting tools, and material behavior.
  • Experience designing or building work holding fixtures for CNC machining applications.
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and dimensional issues related to fixtures and tooling.
  • Basic computer skills (CAD experience is a plus).
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills in a team based manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to perform basic shop math and trigonometry.
  • Eligibility to work with sensitive controlled data and materials according to customer policies and practices.
  • Regularly lift up to 10 pounds; occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for long periods in a manufacturing environment; twist, kneel, bend, and reach as required.
Education and/or Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical certification, apprenticeship, or equivalent experience in toolmaking, fixture building, or machining preferred.
  • Prior aerospace manufacturing experience is a plus.
