Position Summary
Under general supervision, the Machinist will set up and operate CNC Mills / Okuma and Haas Milling machines and conventional machines to fabricate metallic and non-metallic parts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Program CNC machines using CAMWorks software integrated with SolidWorks.
  • Perform set-up and first article on CNC Mill tasks in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Plan the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job.
  • Properly and safely load and unload raw material in CNC machinery.
  • Use measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements.
  • Perform tool wear offsets.
  • Conduct daily cleaning and light maintenance tasks on CNC machinery.
  • Utilize and abide by ISO requirements and safety procedures.
  • Comply with all quality policies, specifications, regulations, and instructions.

Required Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of experience in using and/or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines (mills, grinders, etc.)
  • Ability to learn CAMWorks software integrated with SolidWorks.
  • Ability to use precision tools (e.g., calipers) to take accurate measurements
  • Understand and have the ability to perform tool wear offsets
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals
  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of vocational training or an apprenticeship will be an asset.
  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident

Desired Qualifications
  • Experience using CAMWorks with SolidWorks for programming CNC machining operations.
