Job description

PCB Electrical Hardware Design Engineer. ON-SITE.  MUST BE IN THE BALTIMORE, MD REGION!!!!!

Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Company: Novatec, Inc.
Position Type: Full-Time, On-Site (Remote work is not available)

Primary Responsibilities

· Schematic Capture: Create and maintain electrical schematics using EDA tools (Altium Designer and/or Dip Trace preferred).

· PCB Layout Design: Translate schematics into multi-layer PCB layouts, optimizing component placement, routing, and layer management for signal integrity, EMI reduction, and thermal performance.

· Design Verification: Perform DRC (Design Rule Check), ERC (Electrical Rule Check), and layout verification to catch errors before manufacturing.

· Collaboration: Work with electrical engineers and sales to define requirements, review designs, and resolve issues.

· Documentation: Prepare and maintain technical drawings, BOMs, fabrication/assembly instructions, and test procedures.

· Testing & Troubleshooting: Validate designs through prototyping and testing, identifying and fixing design flaws.

· Vendor Coordination: Work with PCB fabricators and suppliers to ensure accurate production and on-time delivery.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience designing printed circuit boards and embedded electronic hardware

· Software Proficiency: Expertise in EDA tools (Altium Designer, DipTrace, OrCAD) and CAD software.

· Knowledge: Strong understanding of circuit theory, electronics, and manufacturing processes; familiarity with UL, IPC, JEDEC, and other industry standards.
