What skills and qualifications are needed to be an apprentice data analyst?

To thrive as an Apprentice Data Analyst, you need foundational skills in mathematics, data interpretation, and a basic understanding of statistics, often supported by coursework or relevant certifications. Familiarity with tools such as Excel, SQL, and data visualization platforms like Tableau or Power BI is typically expected. Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and effective communication help you interpret findings and present insights clearly. • Support internal audit assurance and advisory engagements by documenting processes, testing controls, assessing governance and risk management practices, and identifying opportunities for process improvement.

  • Leverage data analytics and technology-enabled tools to identify trends, control gaps, emerging risks, and insights that support informed decision-making.

  • Collaborate with clients to understand their operations, strategic objectives, risks, and control environments while helping develop practical, value-driven recommendations.

  • Prepare audit observations, reports, and presentations, clearly communicating findings and recommendations to stakeholders.

  • Manage competing priorities across multiple client engagements and internal initiatives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating flexibility, organization, and professional judgment.

  • Contribute to firm initiatives, including knowledge sharing, innovation projects, practice development activities, proposal preparation, campus recruitment, and community involvement opportunities.

  • Work closely with a collaborative team to deliver exceptional client service while developing your analytical, problem-solving, project management, and communication skills.

We will help clients transform their internal audit functions through technology enablement, AI integration, and capability building – ensuring they are efficient, trusted, and future-ready.

Our practice offers opportunities across several offerings and industries:

  • Internal Audit Program Execution: Executing internal audits of domains/functions across our clients’ organizations through varied engagement constructs (e.g., outsource, co-source).
