Service Technician - Healthcare Services Department

Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Service Technician to join team. In this role, you will perform troubleshooting, maintenance, repairs, and installations on a wide range of electrical systems for commercial clients across South Louisiana. You will work independently and alongside our service team to diagnose issues, complete service work efficiently, and deliver an exceptional customer experience. This position is ideal for a technician who excels in problem-solving, communicates professionally, and takes pride in producing high-quality electrical work in fast-paced commercial environments.
Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in electrical circuits, systems, and equipment
  • Test electrical systems, wiring, equipment, and fixtures to ensure proper function, continuity, compatibility, and safety
  • Perform electrical additions and system modifications in compliance with the National Electrical Code
  • Provide excellent customer service through clear communication, professional appearance, and maintaining clean work areas
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, including regular communication to support service needs
  • Identify opportunities for additional work or service needs and relay leads to the Service Manager
  • Work from ladders, scaffolds, roofs, lifts, and other elevated platforms to install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems
  • Perform physically demanding tasks using basic and specialized tools and equipment required for service work
  • Accurately document work performed, materials used, labor hours, concerns identified, and equipment utilized on work tickets; submit completed work orders daily
  • Follow all company safety policies and ensure safety standards are met or exceeded on every job site
  • Manage and prioritize multiple work orders simultaneously while maintaining strong attention to detail

Position Requirements
Required
  • Valid and current driver's license
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to work full-time; schedule may vary based on customer needs
  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs and work on feet for extended periods
  • Ability to work in tight or confined spaces and at heights (ladders, lifts, scaffolding)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact professionally with customers and team members
  • Ability to multi-task and manage progress on multiple service calls
  • Successful completion of pre-employment background check and drug screen

Preferred
  • Prior experience in commercial electrical service
  • Registered electrical apprentice or journeyman license (or progress toward)
  • OSHA-10 certification or willingness to obtain
  • Familiarity with NEC requirements and commercial troubleshooting practices
