Job description

SUPERVISES

 

  • No supervisory responsibilities
     

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • A high school diploma or equivalent

 

     Possession or immediate eligibility for a Georgia Commercial Driver's License 

 

     And one of the following--either:

 

  1. Completion of a formal comprehensive course in automotive and truck repair and two years of full-time experience as a mechanic; or 

  2. Two (2) years of experience as a mechanic with at least one (1) year of experience working full-time with commercial transportation vehicles other than passenger cars; or

  3. A minimum of one (1) year of full-time experience working as a school bus mechanic's apprentice.  

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • ASE certification (S series)

  • Two (2) years of experience in a bus maintenance setting
