Job description

About Lanner Electronics: Lanner Electronics (TSE:6245) is a world-leading provider of design, engineering, and manufacturing services for advanced network appliances and rugged applied computing platforms. Founded in 1986 and headquartered in Taipei, Taiwan, Lanner is an ISO 9001-accredited organization with over 900 employees worldwide and a global presence including offices in the USA, Canada, Europe, and China. We own and operate our own printed circuit board (PCB) manufacturing, chassis manufacturing, and computer assembly factories, focusing mainly on OEM/ODM manufacturing for global name-brand computer and computer peripheral companies. Our mission is to provide reliable and customizable computing platforms with high quality and performance, supporting the end product development cycle from hardware to the customer application

Position Overview: Lanner Electronics is seeking a dynamic and experienced Product Line Manager to lead our network appliance and edge computing product portfolio in the USA market. This critical role serves as the primary product advocate and business driver, responsible for defining the product roadmap, managing the product lifecycle, and achieving revenue targets. The PLM will work in close collaboration with our headquarters in Taiwan, acting as the voice of the US market to influence product strategy and development. This position requires a deep understanding of the ODM/OEM hardware business model and the ability to manage complex relationships with direct customers, channel partners, and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Strategy & Roadmap: Define and execute the product line strategy and roadmap for network appliances (e.g., uCPE, SD-WAN, network security) and edge computing platforms in the USA. Align the roadmap with market trends, customer needs, and Lanner's overall business objectives.
  • Product Lifecycle Management: Manage the entire product lifecycle, from concept and definition through development, launch, growth, and end-of-life. Coordinate with engineering, operations, and sales teams in both the USA and Taiwan to ensure successful product delivery.
  • Business Development & Sales Enablement: Drive revenue growth by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities with OEM/ODM customers and system integrators. Develop and execute go-to-market plans, pricing strategies, and sales tools to empower the US sales team and channel partners.
  • Market & Customer Intelligence: Act as the subject matter expert for the US market. Gather and analyze market intelligence, competitive landscape, and customer feedback to inform product requirements and strategic decisions. Identify and establish partnerships with technology providers, OEMs, and consulting firms to build a complete ecosystem.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Serve as the central point of contact between the US commercial team and Lanner's R&D and product management headquarters in Taiwan. Clearly communicate market requirements, business cases, and technical feedback to influence the global product development process.
  • Financial Performance: Develop and manage the P&L for the assigned product lines. Set sales forecasts, pricing, and margin targets, and take ownership of the financial performance of the portfolio.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in product management, product sales, or business development within the networking, industrial computing, or embedded systems industries.
  • Demonstrable experience managing network appliance, industrial server, or embedded PC product lines.
  • Deep understanding of the ODM/OEM hardware business models and the sales channels associated with them.
  • Proven track record of winning ODM projects and managing key customer relationships in sectors such as semiconductor, defense, industrial automation, or telecommunications.
  • Experience working for a Taiwan-based hardware manufacturer or in a similar global role requiring close cross-regional collaboration is highly desirable.
  • Strong technical acumen with the ability to understand and discuss product architecture, BIOS, drivers, and operating system integration.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present to C-level executives and technical audiences.
  • Ability to think creatively, work independently, and accomplish goals under high pressure.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or Master's degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Experience with channel partner management, including Value-Added Resellers (VARs) and System Integrators
  • Knowledge of LANs, networking infrastructure, and cybersecurity applications
  • Familiarity with AI-accelerated edge computing solutions and platforms

Travel: This position requires regular travel (approximately 25-30%) to meet with customers, partners, and for periodic visits to Lanner's headquarters in Taiwan.
