Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provides direct patient care, including intake, evaluation, and treatment. Follows documentation and billing guidelines (treatment planning every 60-90 days, documentation of every treatment session on progress note, document collaboration and consults, discharge planning, and appropriate charging)
  • Participates in collaborative staffing(s) with psychologist, clinical staff, and supervisees
  • Oversee quality implementation of Applied Behavioral Analysis, following guidelines set forth by the BCBA governing board (Behavior Analysis Certification Board). May include implementation of ABA and/or oversight of other trained, qualified partners in the implementation of ABA techniques and strategies.
  • Provides regular staff trainings, and assesses supervisees for competencies in trained areas as needed
  • Responsible for reviewing, evaluating, and communicating new research based guidelines for treatment, following evidence based models.
  • May perform the work of subordinates, but less than 50%of the time. Assigns work in accordance with directives and objectives of upper management.
  • Must possess a thorough knowledge of behavioral health services relevant in the field for assigned area, and have demonstrated skills in leadership and program management.
  • Responsible for monitoring quality and performance measures within designated areas/programs. Ensures all data reporting is accurate, timely, and facilitates staff education as needed.
  • Responsible for review and implementation of the behavioral health codes and regulations relevant to designated program areas.
  • Active in participation of MercyCare initiatives that impact quality service or billing/payer systems for Options department
  • Makes recommendations for annual budget planning.
  • Provides feedback and recommendations for process improvement to improve productivity and profitability of clinic operations. Participates in appropriate health system committees.
  • Interviews, supervises, and evaluates Program/treatment staff. Maintains effective staffing levels in all areas of the designated program.
  • Assigns work and coordinates activities to maintain efficient workflow and facilitates staff education.
  • Develops and facilitates specific department in-services including optimization of workflow for all facets of electronic medical records.
  • Gathers and evaluates data, implements changes, makes recommendations for improvement, and provides solutions for problems.
  • Revises, develops, and implements policies and procedures to maintain proper work flow for insurance, billing, patient accounts, and reception departments.
  • Performs audits to review partner performance on an ongoing basis to ensure policies and procedures are being followed consistently.
  • Tracks and measures volume of work assigned and patient flow/access to services.
  • Coordinates functions within defined work group, works cooperatively with other work group supervisors to ensure smooth and timely processes and follow-up with patients. Conducts first line investigation of Service Recoveries and takes the L.E.A.D in timely maintenance of customer satisfaction. Calls upon Director promptly and communicates for direct involvement when circumstances warrant.
  • Responsible for reviewing and communicating new government billing, regulations/guidelines, new managed care contracts, and industry publications.

Education and Experience
Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis.
Current/active BCBA license in WI and/or IL. License coverage would reflect appropriate and necessary for the assigned program area.
Certification and Licensure
BLS/CPR Preferred
