Job description

Job Title: Freezer Order Picker

Job Description

The Freezer Order Picker is responsible for selecting products in a safe and efficient manner, which includes reading labels, placing products in the proper locations on pallets, and preparing them for shipping.

Pay: $21-22 an hour

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to weekly and monthly inventory procedures.
  • Load and unload trucks, and palletize orders.
  • Organize and clean the freezer.
  • Physically transfer products onto pallets following the specified pattern and configuration from orders.
  • Assemble overnight shipments and fill orders in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensure proper product rotation.
  • Communicate pertinent information effectively.
  • Maintain safety and cleanliness of all freezer and cooler areas as per internal and USDA standards.
  • Assist in production work, primarily in the packaging area, as needed.
  • Work with Panatrack and ERP systems to assemble orders.
  • Assist in production tasks as needed.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  • Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), safety rules, and procedures.
  • Ensure food safety and adhere to all environmental protocols.
  • Maintain sanitation procedures and work instructions.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with picking, inventory management, and RF scanner operations.
  • Proficiency in operating a pallet jack and forklift.
  • Prior experience in order picking and general labor in a freezer environment is preferred.
  • 1+ years of experience operating warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED certificate.
  • 1+ years’ experience as a team leader in a manufacturing facility, preferably in the food industry.
  • Forklift experience is required.
  • Prior freezer or cold environment experience is preferred.

Work Environment

Work will be conducted in a freezer environment for the entirety of the shift. Employees will receive breaks to warm up and are encouraged to dress warmly. Shifts available include: 1st shift from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm, 2nd shift from 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm, and 3rd shift from 10:30 pm to 7:00 am.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
