The Application Engineer will work with teams to determine, create and deliver industrial plumbing product quotations. This position will be directly responsible for understanding customer requirements, determining the proper solution, and delivering a competitive solution in the required time to meet the needs of the customer.
This position is also responsible for providing effective customer service for all internal and external customers by utilizing in-depth knowledge of company processes, systems, services, and team members.
This position reports to the Regional Application Sales Manager and is in Menomonee Falls, WI.
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Work with customers and sales teams to understand the requirements of the application and the requested products or systems under consideration.
  • Work collaboratively with sales agents and customers to understand project timelines and the competitive environment.
  • Review customer specifications to ensure requirements can be satisfied. Engage internal and external stakeholders to resolve discrepancies and align our product with the customers' needs.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between internal teams, external sales representatives, and customers to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Work closely with design engineering to develop cost estimates for quotations.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing and other functions to ensure all stakeholders are aligned with the proposed solution and timeline.
  • Manage and process customer requests for technical clarification, documentation, and reports in a timely manner.
  • Obtain and maintain current information on market-level pricing and competition.
  • Ensure work is delivered to the agreed service level.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in related engineering, manufacturing or business area required
  • 5+ years technical work experience
  • Ability to anticipate and solve practical problems and resolve technical and customer related issues.
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation communication skills.
  • Superior organizational, analytical and time management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with people at all levels.
  • Proficient in MS Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Able to identify, analyze and work through problems as they arise, and communicate thoroughly to all stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills and customer service etiquette.
  • Knowledge to qualify engineering specifications to system applications, functions, markets, and materials.
  • Knowledge and experience with Commercial and Industrial piping systems.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.
  • Ability to manage and maintain several portfolios for various clients at the same time
  • Good team player, honest, and willing to be cooperative with fellow colleagues.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering
  • Knowledge of hydraulic principles, pumps and plumbing systems

Working Conditions:
While performing the job duties, you will be working on-site at a manufacturing facility and will perform the majority of your duties in an office environment. You may, at times, be required to be present on the manufacturing floor and will be required to wear the appropriate personal protective equipment. You will be required to work in the office at the Menomonee Falls, WI location (Monday - Friday). Your scheduled work hours will be communicated to you by your manager.
