Applications Engineer – Biopharmaceutical Solutions


Help Shape the Future of Biomanufacturing!


ABEC is seeking an Applications Engineer to develop innovative technical solutions for global biopharmaceutical manufacturing customers. In this highly visible role, you'll serve as a key link between customers, Sales, Engineering, Product Management, and Operations teams, helping transform complex manufacturing challenges into customized solutions that drive customer success and business growth.


What You'll Do

  • Develop technical and commercial proposals for biopharma manufacturing solutions.
  • Interpret customer requirements and recommend optimal process and equipment solutions.
  • Generate budgetary and definitive cost estimates, pricing, and proposals.
  • Serve as a technical expert supporting customer meetings, presentations, and sales opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Automation, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Project Management teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.
  • Review purchase orders and contracts for technical and commercial alignment.
  • Support product launches, sales training, and marketing initiatives.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and project performance.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the organization. 
  • Travel to customer sites up to 30%.

What You'll Bring

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science.
  • 5+ years of experience in biopharma capital equipment, bioprocess engineering, applications engineering, equipment design, or product management.
  • Knowledge of bioprocess equipment such as: 
    • Single-Use Systems (SUS)
    • Bioreactors and Fermenters
    • Mixing Technologies
    • Filtration Systems
    • Chromatography Equipment
  • Understanding of cGMP biopharmaceutical manufacturing and capital project execution.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to navigate both technical and commercial business environments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Applications Engineering, Product Management, or Bioprocess Engineering.
  • ERP system experience.
  • Foreign language proficiency.
  • Experience supporting global customers and commercial opportunities.
