Job description

Position Summary

Light & Wonder is seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer to join our team in Reno, Nevada. In this role, you will help design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality software solutions that power industry-leading gaming products and experiences.

As a senior member of the engineering team, you will play a key role in the full software development lifecycle, collaborating closely with product, QA, DevOps, and fellow engineering teams to deliver innovative, scalable, and reliable solutions. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise in modern software development, a passion for solving complex problems, and a commitment to helping others while driving engineering excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain software solutions that meet business and technical requirements.

  • Lead the implementation of software features and enhancements while ensuring alignment with development standards and best practices.

  • Develop applications using C++, C, C#, and .NET technologies.

  • Design and maintain WPF-based applications and user interfaces.

  • Develop, optimize, and support SQL databases and performance-critical queries.

  • Collaborate with QA, DevOps, Product, and other engineering teams to ensure successful software delivery.

  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to maintaining high standards of code quality.

  • Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects and technical issues.

  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance across development initiatives.

  • Support Agile development activities, including planning, estimation, and sprint execution.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of software development experience.

  • Proven experience designing and developing scalable software solutions.

  • Strong proficiency in C++, C, and C#.

  • Strong proficiency in SQL and database optimization.

  • Knowledge and experience developing WPF .NET applications.

  • Experience with software development methodologies such as Agile and Scrum.

  • Experience using version control systems including Git and Perforce.

  • Solid understanding of software architecture, data structures, and algorithms.
