Job description

DSM Food Specialties USA, Inc. seeks a Manager, Product Application, Fresh Dairy, ISOL, NAM for its Waukesha, Wisconsin location.
Duties: The focus of this position is to support the growth of DSM's food ingredient business within the Fresh Fermented Milk Products (FMP) segment in North America by working together with Customers, Sales, Marketing, Production and the Global Application team to translate customer needs into current product applications or development of new, profitable products. Support Sales in promoting and implementing new and existing products and applications with new and existing clients. This includes applying previous sales and commercial manufacturing experience to develop targeted prototypes, technical information and product recommendations that address particular client needs. In addition, the person in this position will be responsible for designing and executing experiments needed to answer customer questions or troubleshoot customer issues. Together with the business and regional Sales and Marketing Managers, identify customer needs and develop innovative solutions utilizing the entire dsm-firmenich portfolio of cultures, enzymes, hydrocolloids, nutritional ingredients and flavors. Manage product development projects and drive work packages that deliver new ingredients and innovative concepts/solutions in line with the business strategy for North America and/or the global market. Manage the FMP pilot plant and participate in the production of prototypes for customer demonstrations. Supervise relevant work by the Sr. Technician and external pilot plants, when needed. Serve as the internal expert for Regulatory, Legal, and Production on questions of yogurt and other fresh dairy products.
Requirements: Requires a minimum of a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Dairy Science, Dairy Food Engineering, Biotechnology, and five (5) years of progressive post baccalaureate experience as a Technical Services Manager or Account Manager in a role performing Sales and Technical duties for a global dairy food manufacturing company. Five (5) years of experience must include all of the following: Applying knowledge of fermented food microbiology and culture development. Project Management, Consumer dairy food development and launch processes. Fermented dairy product sensory evaluation and Commercial dairy food manufacturing, especially the manufacture of fresh dairy products such as yogurt. Experience in Ingredient Sales process and support of ingredients sales to large global companies. Development of Fermented Dairy Prototypes using culture, enzyme, texturizer, and nutritional and flavor ingredients. Identification of market trends and customer needs within the fermented dairy market. Utilization of pilot plant equipment, including HTST/UHT pasteurizer. Requires up to 15% international or domestic travel. Telecommuting is permissible on a hybrid basis in accordance with dsm-firmenich policies and protocols. Salary: $143,328.94/yr; 40 hours/week.
