Job description

Retail Information Systems is seeking a skilled and motivated Application Support Engineer to join our growing technical team. This role is ideal for an experienced IT professional who enjoys solving complex technical problems, working with modern monitoring and analytics tools, and supporting clients' business-critical systems.
This position plays a key role in supporting client environments through proactive system monitoring, troubleshooting, and data analysis. The ideal candidate will be proficient with Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) tools, specifically NinjaOne, and experience using Power BI to analyze operational data and system performance.
At RIS, our engineers are empowered to diagnose issues, implement solutions, and continuously improve the environments we support. Our systems operate primarily in a Microsoft Windows and Oracle-based environment, supporting a diverse range of retail and business clients.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide remote and technical support to clients across a variety of platforms and environments.
  • Utilize NinjaOne RMM to proactively monitor systems, deploy updates, automate maintenance tasks, and identify potential issues before they impact operations.
  • Develop and analyze reports and dashboards using Power BI to track system health, performance trends, and operational metrics.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues involving Windows systems, desktop applications, printers, and other connected devices.
  • Manage and respond to support requests through our help desk ticketing system, including documenting, prioritizing, and resolving service tickets.
  • Assist with troubleshooting networking issues, including wired and wireless connectivity, security considerations, and general network design concepts.
  • Work closely with internal teams and clients to ensure the timely resolution of technical issues while maintaining excellent customer service.
Required Qualifications
  • Demonstrated proficiency with RMM platforms, preferably NinjaOne.
  • Experience creating and working with dashboards, reports, or analytics using Power BI.
  • Experience providing desktop and application support in business environments.
  • Strong familiarity with help desk ticketing systems and support workflows.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems.
  • Strong understanding of computer hardware configuration, installation, and troubleshooting.
  • Working knowledge of networking fundamentals, including wired and wireless networks.
  • Intermediate understanding of database systems such as Oracle or MySQL.
Preferred Experience
