Job description

At the present time, a vacancy exists for two Technical Readers within the Student Services division of the Chester County Intermediate Unit. The Technical Reader in the Medical Access Department is responsible for facilitating the accurate processing of medical access documentation to ensure eligibility for reimbursement for the CCIU and district partners. This position involves running and reviewing error reports, ensuring the integrity and compliance of RMTS (Random Moment Time Study) reports, and verifying staff credentialing in alignment with the SBAP (State-Based Automated Systems for Administration of Provider and Participant Data) handbook. The Technical Reader will also collaborate with various departmental stakeholders to resolve discrepancies, maintain regulatory compliance, and support the department's overall efficiency in medical access operations. This position is located at the Educational Services Center in Downingtown, PA.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

a. A High School Diploma
b. Experience using various databases 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. 1.Run and analyze error reports to identify and rectify discrepancies.
  2. 2.Ensure the accuracy and completeness of RMTS (Random Moment Time Study) reports.
  3. 3.Process medical access documentation and medical authorizations in accordance with departmental procedures and regulatory requirements.
  4. 4. Verify and maintain compliance with staff credentialing requirements outlined in the SBAP (State-
  5. Based Automated Systems for Administration of Provider and Participant Data) handbook.
  6. 5. Collaborate with departmental stakeholders to resolve any issues related to error reports or credentialing.
  7. 6. Maintain detailed documentation of processes and findings.
  8. 7. Audit data by completing weekly/monthly reports to monitor data for service logging errors and ensure compliance with current state and federal regulations. Prepare and submit required reports to districts, state, and federal agencies.
  9. 8. Function as primary contact with IT regarding database revisions and technical issues.
  10. 9. Develop systems/charts/graphs/projections to track targeted data to improve programmatic efficiency.
  11. 10. Develop systems and procedures to train staff in order to maintain the integrity of all data entered into database systems. Attend and facilitate trainings and meetings to develop and implement new procedures to ensure accurate data.
  12. 11. Assist in the clerical duties associated with the submission of service logs to the amount andextent that is needed programmatically.
  13. 12. Perform day-to-day case maintenance, which includes all clerical responsibilities related to thepromptness of service log submission.
  14. 13. Assist in the clerical duties associated with MA to the amount and extent that is neededprogrammatically.
  15. 14. Maintain HIPPA and FERPA Regulations with regard to student/staff data.
  16. 15. Support other technical readers as may be needed for special projects and/or heavy workloadperiods.
  17. 16. Perform additional duties as needed and specified by new mandates and requirements.
  18. 17. Provide support to staff in the use of various computer application programs: word processing,
  19. database, spreadsheets, and other computer applications.

Hourly Rate (2026-2027 SY):
Support Staff, Level 11, Nonexempt: $24.82/hr. to $32.90/hr. 

*rate is determined by years of experience in a similar role
