ROLE SUMMARY

The Intersect Group is seeking an experienced SAP Technical Architect specializing in SAP Basis, Integration, and Security to support and enhance a large scale global SAP landscape. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring the stability, performance, security, and reliability of SAP platforms while supporting ongoing modernization and transformation initiatives.

The ideal candidate is a hands on technical leader who can effectively manage critical incidents, guide support teams through complex issues, and drive continuous improvement across SAP infrastructure, integrations, and security. This position partners closely with internal technology teams, business stakeholders, and external service providers to deliver scalable and secure SAP solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Administer and support SAP S/4HANA, ECC, NetWeaver ABAP, Java, and HANA environments across global landscapes

• Lead SAP Basis activities including upgrades, patches, system copies, client refreshes, performance tuning, and landscape maintenance

• Design, implement, and support integrations between SAP and non SAP systems using SAP PI/PO, CPI, APIs, IDocs, RFCs, BAPIs, SOAP, REST, and OData technologies

• Manage SAP security initiatives including system hardening, SAP Security Notes implementation, GRC governance, role design, and SOX compliance activities

• Develop and maintain SAP architecture standards supporting high availability, disaster recovery, scalability, and operational reliability

• Lead major incident response efforts and provide hands on troubleshooting during Priority 1 and Priority 2 production issues

• Collaborate with infrastructure, networking, cloud, development, and business teams to ensure successful delivery of SAP initiatives

• Support automation, cloud migration, SAP modernization, and S/4HANA transformation programs

KEY REQUIREMENTS

• 7+ years of SAP Basis administration experience supporting large scale global SAP environments

• Strong expertise with SAP S/4HANA, ECC, HANA Database, NetWeaver ABAP, and Java platforms

• Hands on experience with SAP integration technologies including PI/PO, CPI, IDocs, RFCs, BAPIs, SOAP, REST, and OData

• Experience implementing SAP security best practices, GRC Access Control, role governance, segregation of duties analysis, and compliance requirements

• Knowledge of SAP Fiori, Gateway, Web Dispatcher, SAP Router, and SAP Solution Manager

• Experience supporting cloud based SAP environments including Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform, SAP RISE, or similar platforms

• Working knowledge of Linux, networking concepts, firewalls, load balancers, virtualization platforms, and middleware technologies

• Experience with automation tools such as Python, PowerShell, Ansible, Splunk, Dynatrace, or comparable technologies

• Ability to lead major incidents, influence technical teams, and deliver solutions in high pressure production environments

• Strong communication, collaboration, problem solving, and leadership skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP)

• Experience supporting high availability and disaster recovery architectures

• Experience working with onsite and offshore service integration partners

• Prior involvement in SAP transformation, modernization, or cloud migration initiatives

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Participate in scheduled weekend maintenance activities, typically at least once per month

• Provide support during critical production incidents as required

• Collaborate with global teams across multiple time zones
