About the Opportunity
Job Summary
The Integration Engineer will design, develop, and maintain integrations between various internal and external systems. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring seamless data flow across our technology ecosystem while maintaining data integrity and system performance.
Retains flexibility in performing duties outside of the primary responsibilities to support evolving business needs, taking on additional tasks or projects as required, ensuring smooth operations across the organization. Assist cross-functional teams, handling unexpected challenges, or contributing to initiatives that support business growth and success, keeping a proactive mindset and an ability to pivot quickly are essential for thriving in this dynamic environment.
This role is hybrid and in the office minimum of three days a week to facilitate collaboration and teamwork. In-office presence is an essential part of our on-campus culture and allows for engaging directly with staff and students, sharing ideas, and contributing to a dynamic work environment. Being on-site allows for stronger connections, more effective problem-solving, and enhanced team synergy, all of which are key to achieving our collective goals and driving success.
This role requires occasional availability outside of traditional working hours to address urgent business needs as they arise, including, but not limited to, responding to security incidents, supporting software deployments, resolving software issues or system breaks, and addressing other critical operational requirements and ensuring minimal disruption to business operations by promptly addressing any issues, regardless of time or day. Flexibility and a strong sense of urgency are essential for success in this position.

Minimum Qualification
  • Knowledge and skills required for this position are typically acquired through the completion of Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and three years of hands-on experience with Workday integrations
  • Proficiency with Workday Studio, EIBs (Enterprise Interface Builder), and Core Connectors
  • Strong understanding of Workday data model and business processes
  • Experience with XML, XSLT, JSON, REST/SOAP web services
  • Knowledge of database concepts and SQL querying
  • Understanding of HR and payroll business processes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Workday Studio, EIBs, Core Connectors, Workday Web Services
  • XML/XSLT, JSON, REST/SOAP APIs
  • SQL and database management
  • Scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, or similar)
  • Version control systems (Git)
  • Integration monitoring and troubleshooting tools

Key Accountabilities & responsibilities:
1) Integration Development & Maintenance
  • Design, build, test, and deploy integrations using Workday Studio, EIBs, Core Connectors, and Workday Web Services or other applications leveraging both configuration and customization
  • Develop inbound and outbound integrations for data
  • Create and maintain integration documentation, including technical specifications and data mapping
  • Troubleshoot integration issues and implement solutions to ensure reliable data transfer
  • Work with various data formats including XML, JSON, CSV, and flat files
  • Implement error handling, logging, and monitoring for integration processes
  • Perform data validation and transformation to ensure accuracy across systems

2) Collaboration & Support
  • Partner with HR, IT, and other business stakeholders to gather integration requirements
  • Collaborate with system functional consultants and system administrators
  • Provide technical guidance on integration capabilities and limitations
  • Support testing phases including unit testing, system integration testing, and user acceptance testing
