Position Title: Sales Application Engineer

Position Summary

Utilize individual technical, communication and product skills to prepare sales quotations for custom equipment orders and relay information to customers. Develops product designs, generates sales quotations, and handle customer inquiries. Work with team members and sales representatives and coordinate with various departments.

Position Responsibilities
  • Create proposals and sales drawings.
  • Single source customer contact for all project related issues/activities, to include project management.
  • Assist sales staff in assessing potential applications of company products to meet other customer needs.
  • Manage contractual modifications during the course of a project to ensure project profitability.
  • Responsible for creation and accuracy of project buyout component lists.
  • Provide technical support and information to the Company’s sales staff and customers.
  • Provide quotation to customers by preparing accurate pricing for a project after reading/reviewing specifications and gathering correct documents.
  • Gather engineering data as it pertains to a specific product.
  • Review engineering drawings, analyze design, and retrieve information to complete drawings, layout, or design.
  • Learn specific in-house engineering design and selection software programs.
  • Learn and interact with Nortek Air Solutions manufacturing software programs for input of job data and monitor equipment in production.
  • Create and manage Project submittal documentation.
  • Other Duties as Assigned
Requirements
  • BA/BS degree in Engineering, business Administration, Sales or relevant field experience.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills to interpret sales performance and market trends.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to communicate technically, both internally with various departments and externally with customers.
  • Solid organization skills and strong multi-tasking abilities in a timeline driven environment.
  • Independent analysis and judgment skills in using prior experience and knowledge of company policies and procedures to resolve non-standard problems.
Preferred
  • Strong computer skills in: Microsoft Office Suite AutoCAD / 3D Application Microsoft Dynamics (DAX) or similar MRP/ERP system
  • Educated and experienced in blueprint and technical document review with ability to understand and read technical details from prints, drawings, and other documents.
