Kentro is seeking an Entry-Level Application Developer with a minimum of one year of experience and a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field. This role supports a Quick Reaction Team focused on rapid prototyping to demonstrate "art of the possible" solutions for public sector customers, with emphasis on the Department of War. Candidates must show strong adaptability, foundational SecDevOps knowledge, and the ability to quickly learn and deploy new technologies in short-turn environments. 

Location:This position can be performed remotely within the United States and will support Eastern Time working hours. However, candidates located in or near the Tampa, FL or Washington, DC metropolitan areas are preferred due to team collaboration and client engagement needs.

Responsibilities
  • Develop rapid prototypes and proof-of-concept applications for public sector customers. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional technical teams to design, build, and iterate solutions quickly. 
  • Apply SecDevOps principles to ensure secure, scalable, and maintainable prototype environments. 
  • Work with various programming languages, frameworks, and cloud services as needed. 
  • Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into functional prototypes. 
  • Support integration, testing, and delivery of prototypes to customer environments. 
  • Document technical approaches, architecture decisions, and prototype capabilities. 
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related discipline. 
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant development experience (internships included). 
  • Proficiency in Python, Java, SQL, or similar languages. 
  • Foundational experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS. 
  • Basic understanding of SecDevOps practices and secure coding principles. 
  • Ability to rapidly learn and apply new tools, frameworks, and architectures.

  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, uncertain environments. 
  • Effective communicator able to work directly with customers.
