What You’ll Do:

  • Business Development: Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities across target industries, including aerospace, defense, rail, agriculture, and other industrial markets.
  • Technical Consultation: Collaborate with customer engineering teams to review drawings, understand application requirements, and recommend the most effective manufacturing solutions, including casting, machining, or fabrication.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Build, maintain, and expand relationships with existing and prospective customers. Serve as the primary liaison between customers and internal engineering, manufacturing, and production teams to ensure successful project execution.
  • Strategic Growth: Promote the full Bearon portfolio of products and services, including Yardley Inserts and Penn El naval products, to maximize cross-selling opportunities and drive revenue growth.
  • Market Intelligence: Monitor industry trends, competitive activity, and emerging technologies, providing market insights and customer feedback to support business strategy and product development.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline is required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in technical outside sales, customer project management, or a related customer-facing role within the manufacturing, metalworking, or industrial sectors.
  • Travel Requirements: Approximately 75% of this role involves regional travel to meet with customers, develop and expand business opportunities, support key accounts, and represent the company at industry trade shows and events.
  • Demonstrated experience working with CNC machining, tooling, manufacturing processes, and a variety of engineering materials. Experience with foundry operations, castings, and tooling is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to interpret engineering drawings, collaborate with technical teams, and develop customer-focused manufacturing solutions.
  • Ideal candidates will have experience in roles such as Sales Engineer, Technical Account Manager, Application Engineer, Business Development Manager (Manufacturing), or similar technical sales positions.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and CAD drawings, and confidently discuss technical specifications with engineers, purchasing agents, and other customer stakeholders.
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and consultative selling skills, with the ability to communicate value beyond price alone.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks and Mastercam, along with a solid understanding of metrology, manufacturing processes, and quality control principles.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented professional with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience using ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with HubSpot or other CRM platforms is preferred.
