Job description

Insulectro, the largest national distributor of Printed Circuit Board materials is seeking talented technical superstars for our Field Application Engineer role located in Austin, TX.  This role will focus on maintaining the existing customer base and partnering with our sales team to develop new business within the assigned territory in both the Printed Circuit Board and Printed Electronics industry.

What you'll do each day:
 
  • Generate new & repeat sales by providing Printed Circuit Board (PCB) materials product and technical support and information in a timely manner and by maintaining customer relationships
  • Provide technical support to customers through knowledge of PCB product, samples, and data sheets
  • Partner with Technical Account Managers (TAMs), Supplier Resources & the fabricators manufacturing goods with our products to further penetrate customer base
  • Work with Product Management, Sales and Suppliers to continue to develop gross profit opportunities
  • Service assigned region & increase sales by technically supporting the value selling, cross-selling, up-selling, add-on sales & offering promotional sale item techniques
  • Visit customer sites and provide excellent technical customer service and satisfaction while growing the business
  • Visit our customers OEMs to present our technology in an effort to win print position for the products we sell into the fabricators.  These calls will often be with our suppliers' sales and marketing teams or with Insulectro TAMs and Product Managers.
  • Partner with internal departments such as sales, engineering, supply chain, purchasing, etc., to ensure timely delivery of technical solutions
  • Educate customers about terminology, system tools and features, and benefits of PCB products to improve product-related technical support sales and customer satisfaction
  • Plan and prioritize technical service calls, sales visits, pricing decisions, etc. to maximize usage of time management. A passion for hands-on PCB technical support and customer face-to-face engagement is required
  • Ability to change gears instantly and adapt to different environments; good communication skills with individuals of all levels; able to take rejection and be highly competitive

  • Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Engineering, Technical Sales, or the equivalent
  • 3+ years technical service and sales experience in electronics industry, distribution sales, or products used in the high-tech industry
  • Experience with printed circuit materials and printing products including but not limited to flexible and rigid laminates, dry film photoresists, drilling materials, plastic films, polyester films, polycarbonate films, conductive inks, high performance plastic substrates, process chemistries, etc.

Pay is based upon region, experience and qualifications, but typically falls in the range of $65,000 to $85,000 annually.
