Summary

The Applications Engineering team at SENS creates world-class customer and revenue impact by bringing technologies, solutions, and systems to existing and emerging markets. Our Applications Engineering Manager will lead this team to develop customer trust and provide critical revenue impact.

This leader will evaluate, redesign, and optimize our application engineering, quoting, and technical sales processes to improve speed, quality, and customer experience. They will work cross-functionally with sales, engineering, operations, and product management to remove bottlenecks, standardize best practices, implement scalable tools, and build a high-performing team capable of delivering technical solutions with exceptional responsiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of application engineers that delivers technical solutions supporting the successful deployment, adoption, and expansion of SENS' products and systems within customer environments.
  • Own and continuously improve the end-to-end customer quoting and application engineering workflow.
  • Identify bottlenecks and lead initiatives that reduce quote cycle time while maintaining technical accuracy.
  • Develop standardized processes, templates, and engineering tools that improve consistency and scalability.
  • Drive SENS technologies and solutions forward by leveraging a thorough understanding of technologies and markets to steer future solutions that meet market needs for years to come.
  • Champion lean, continuous improvement, and automation initiatives across the department.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 5+ years of relevant or related experience with 1+ year of managing a team.
  • Proven experience improving operational processes, reducing cycle times, and driving organizational efficiency.
  • Candidates must have demonstrated experience working in a sales organization in a customer-facing capacity.
  • At least 1 year of experience managing a team.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% as needed for client meetings, trade shows, and conferences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with mission critical energy storage systems, power conversion technologies, low voltage AC and DC power distribution, batteries, and technical leadership.
  • Technical degree.

Location: Longmont, CO

Base Compensation: Compensation for this role includes base pay plus variable pay (commission) for a total on-target earnings (OTE). OTE is calculated as the annual base salary plus the projected annual commission at 100% quota attainment. The base salary range for this position is $125,000 - $150,000 with the opportunity to earn variable commission at 100% quota attainment with an on-target earnings (OTE) range of $165,000 - $200,000.

Closing Date: 10/9. While we expect to keep the position open through this date, the posting may be extended or closed early based on applicant volume and hiring needs.
