As a Mendix Technical Lead at VeilSun, you will serve as the lead developer and technical execution leader on client engagements while acting as a trusted technical consultant to our clients. In this role, you will design and deliver scalable Mendix solutions that solve real business challenges while helping clients identify additional opportunities to expand and optimize their use of the platform. You will work closely with business stakeholders to translate operational needs into effective low-code solutions, guide clients on best practices, and proactively surface opportunities for new capabilities, enhancements, or expanded platform adoption.
You will partner closely with the Practice Technical Manager to align with architectural standards and collaborate with Project Managers and delivery teams to ensure solutions are delivered efficiently, within scope, and aligned with long-term client success.
This is a senior individual contributor role for someone who combines advanced Mendix development expertise with a consulting mindset, technical leadership, and the ability to uncover opportunities that deepen client value and engagement.
Purpose of this Position
Lead the technical execution of Mendix solutions by designing, building, and delivering scalable applications while mentoring developers and protecting delivery quality across engagements. This role owns the technical success of individual projects and ensures solutions align with VeilSun development standards and client objectives.
Business Outcomes
Success in this role means solutions are delivered efficiently, developers are supported and growing, and applications are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with client needs.
You will be measured on:
• Successful technical delivery of Mendix projects
• Solution quality, maintainability, and usability
• Reduced defects and rework during delivery
• Adherence to architectural and development standards
• Positive client feedback on technical leadership
• Contribution to project margin through efficient development and disciplined scope adherence
What You Will Lead
• Lead the technical design and development of scalable Mendix solutions, translating business requirements into well-structured applications, workflows, integrations, and data models.
• Serve as the lead developer on design projects and Ongoing Development Plan engagements, guiding development efforts, breaking down solution designs into executable tasks, and ensuring adherence to architectural and development standards.
• Optimize application performance, usability, and maintainability through sound system design, data modeling, and continuous improvement of delivered solutions.
• Partner with client stakeholders to understand business challenges, communicate technical concepts clearly, and guide platform decisions that balance speed, cost, scalability, and long-term value.
• Collaborate closely with project managers to maintain scope discipline, delivery timelines, and successful project outcomes.
• Identify opportunities to expand or enhance Mendix solutions that improve client operations and deepen platform adoption.
• Apply and reinforce VeilSun development standards, governance practices, and reusable solution patterns to ensure consistency and efficiency across projects.
• Mentor developers and provide technical guidance that strengthens team capability and promotes structured problem-solving.
Decision Authority
You have authority to:
• Make technical implementation decisions within project architecture
• Recommend design adjustments to improve performance, scalability, or usability
• Require adherence to development standards and documentation expectations
• Escalate architectural risks or technical challenges when necessary
• Recommend improvements to development practices and reusable assets
Desired Behaviors and Attributes
• Takes full ownership of the technical success of their projects
• Approaches development with both engineering discipline and consulting mindset
• Balances speed with maintainability and scalability
• Communicates clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences
• Organized, detail-oriented, and accountable for delivery outcomes
• Comfortable working independently while supporting team collaboration
• Curious and proactive in solving complex technical challenges
Failure Patterns We Avoid
• Over-engineering solutions beyond client value
• Delivering solutions without considering maintainability or scalability
• Allowing unclear requirements to drive rework later
• Working in isolation instead of collaborating with the team
• Failing to communicate risks early during delivery
Preferred Capabilities

• 5+ years of Mendix development experience preferred
• Advanced and Expert Mendix Certifications preferred
• Experience designing Mendix applications including workflows, data models, and automation
• Strong understanding of process-driven applications and system design
