Description

 We are seeking a mid-level Configuration Manager / Document Manager with strong Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) competencies to design, implement, and operationalize configuration management practices across a complex enterprise network and systems environment. This role is central to establishing authoritative configuration processes, deploying supporting tools, and integrating configuration data into broader service management and reliability workflows. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable designing processes, enabling automation, and collaborating across engineering, operations, security, and service management teams to enhance transparency, control, and service reliability. 

Requirements

Configuration Management (ITIL v4 Alignment)

  • Design, implement, and mature the Configuration Management Practice in alignment with ITIL v4.
  • Define and maintain Configuration Items (CIs) across network, infrastructure, platform, and application components.
  • Establish CI relationships and dependencies to support impact analysis, risk assessment, and reliability engineering.
  • Lead CI lifecycle management, including baselines, version control, and validation.
  • Ensure configuration information supports value creation, risk reduction, and improved service outcomes.
Tooling & Automation
  • Select, implement, and integrate configuration management and discovery tools (e.g., CMDB, automated discovery, IaC repositories).
  • Automate CI data collection, reconciliation, and validation to improve accuracy and reduce manual effort.
  • Integrate configuration tools with monitoring, incident management, change enablement, and asset management systems.
  • Support infrastructure-as-code and declarative configuration approaches where applicable.
Site Reliability & Service Management Integration
  • Partner with SRE, network, and platform teams to ensure configuration data supports availability targets and operational resilience.
  • Provide accurate configuration and dependency data to accelerate incident resolution and problem analysis.
  • Support Change Enablement by ensuring configuration impacts and risks are understood before deployment.
  • Contribute to service continuity and disaster recovery planning through accurate baselines.
Process Design & Continuous Improvement
  • Develop policies, procedures, and work instructions aligned with ITIL v4 guiding principles.
  • Establish metrics and KPIs to measure configuration accuracy, coverage, and effectiveness.
  • Identify opportunities for continual improvement across configuration, reliability, and operational practices.
  • Educate stakeholders on configuration management concepts, responsibilities, and value.
Collaboration & Governance
  • Serve as a liaison between engineering, operations, security, architecture, and service management teams.
  • Support audits, compliance efforts, and governance reviews by providing authoritative configuration information.
  • Ensure configuration practices align with organizational risk, security, and compliance requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience with configuration management, CMDB tools, and ITIL v4 practices.
  • Familiarity with enterprise network, infrastructure, and platform environments.
  • Experience with automation, discovery tooling, and infrastructure-as-code concepts.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and cross-team collaboration skills.
  • Understanding of SRE principles and service reliability practices.
