Job PurposeThe Sr. Competitive Insights Analyst researches and analyzes qualitative and quantitative data on competitors and their products to identify market trends and potential. Maintains and develops competitive intelligence databases and prepares reports as required. The Sr. Competitive Insights Analyst also provides consultation on competitive products to Wholesalers and employees, as well as mentors less experienced Competitive Insights Analysts.Essential Responsibilities
  • Researches competitors' annuity product offering and product design.
  • Collects data on competitors and analyzes their prices, sales, and methods of operation.
  • Provides analysis on sales trends in the industry and product specific level analysis.
  • Conducts research projects on new products and channels, as requested.
  • Tracks competitors' interest rates and commissions.
  • Updates and maintains content of internal competitor product database.
  • Produces monthly and quarterly reports showing competitor product specifications.
  • Conducts internal and external research projects upon request.
  • Produces weekly competitor interest rate update reports for the Actuarial Department and Product Management.
  • Provides written analysis on competitor trends on a monthly and quarterly frequency.
  • Partners with the Investment Specialist team to provide competitive analysis on sub-account options, costs and trends.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with internal and externals contacts.
  • Mentors less experienced Competitive Insights Analysts.
  • Presents to stakeholders about the competitive landscape and acts as a subject matter expert for competitive products.

  • Performs other duties and/or projects as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Financial services industry experience preferred.
  • Broad knowledge of annuities products a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization.
  • Ability to analyze, interpret and present complex concepts.
  • Knowledge of MS Office and other relevant systems.
  • Ability to prioritize, handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and detail oriented.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 3+ years competitive intelligence or financial services industry experience required.
  • FINRA SIE, FINRA Series 6 or 7 required.
  • Applicants without the required registration(s) will have 90 days to obtain the required registration(s), but will be limited in job function until complete registration(s) is obtained.
