Job description

Job Description:

Manager - Marketing Science & Insights

Are you a data scientist with the mindset of a business consultant? We are seeking a strategic advisor who uses data science to help shape the future of our iconic brands. Join Mars as a Manager in our Marketing Insights & Strategy team, a key leadership role within our Analytics & Insights for Mars Marketing (AIM) Center of Excellence.

In this role, you will act as a strategic thought partner to senior marketing leaders. Your mission is to translate complex business challenges into data science problems and, in turn, translate the solutions back into actionable, high-impact business strategy. You will be more than a data expert; you will be a trusted advisor who influences key decisions, from investment choices to long-term brand planning. If you are driven by the challenge of using data to influence C-suite leaders and shape business outcomes, this is the role for you.

What are we looking for?

  • Education & Mindset: A Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (Data Science, Statistics, etc.) is required, with an advanced degree (Master's/PhD) preferred. You must possess deep business acumen and a consultative approach to problem-solving.
  • Experience: You have 5+ years of experience in a data science role with a demonstrated track record of influencing business strategy. Experience in management consulting or an internal advisory role is a significant asset.
  • Strategic Influence: You have a proven ability to act as a strategic thought partner, skilled in translating complex model outputs into C-suite level recommendations and shaping the strategic agenda of senior leaders.
  • Stakeholder Partnership: You have an exceptional ability to build trusted partnerships with senior stakeholders (VPs, Directors), with the capacity to command a room, lead through influence, and foster collaborative relationships.
  • Technical & Modeling: You have proficiency in Python or R for statistical modeling, strong SQL skills, and a deep understanding of machine learning techniques and experimental design (causal inference, A/B testing).
  • Communication: You possess world-class communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to create and deliver clear, persuasive, and data-driven narratives to executive audiences.

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Advise & Influence: Serve as a primary strategic advisor to senior marketing leadership. Use data science insights to challenge assumptions, provide strategic guidance, and influence the direction of brand and marketing strategy.
  • Frame & Solve: Partner with business leaders to proactively identify and frame their most complex challenges, scoping them into solvable data science problems and leading the path to a solution.
  • Model & Interpret: Develop and deploy advanced statistical and machine learning models to uncover insights, then interpret and communicate the "so what" behind the data in a clear business context.
  • Synthesize & Storytell: Integrate insights from your models with broad market intelligence to construct and deliver powerful, data-driven stories that drive action and impact.
  • Build & Embed Capabilities: Act as a change agent by embedding data-driven decision-making and a "test and learn" culture within the marketing organization, building the analytical muscle of your business partners.
  • Deliver Executive-Level Recommendations: Create and present compelling, high-stakes presentations to senior leaders that simplify complexity and empower them to make confident, data-backed decisions.

What can you expect from Mars?

  • Work with diverse and talented Associates, all guided by the Five Principles.
  • Join a purpose-driven company, striving to build the world we want tomorrow, today.
  • Best-in-class learning and development support from day one, including access to our in-house Mars University.
  • An industry-competitive salary and benefits package, including company bonus.
