Job description

We are looking for a motivated Junior Appliance Repair Technician to join our growing team. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career who wants hands-on training and a clear path to becoming a fully certified technician. You'll work alongside experienced techs, learning to diagnose and repair household appliances while providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Assist senior technicians with diagnosing and repairing major household appliances (refrigerators, washers, dryers, dishwashers, ovens, microwaves, etc.)
  • Perform basic repairs and maintenance independently as skills develop
  • Travel to customer homes to complete service calls in a professional and timely manner
  • Accurately diagnose appliance issues using manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools
  • Complete clear, accurate work orders and service reports after each job
  • Explain repairs, costs, and maintenance tips to customers in an easy-to-understand way
  • Follow all safety procedures, especially around electrical and gas-powered appliances
  • Continuously learn new appliance models, technologies, and repair techniques
  • 0–2 years of experience in appliance repair, HVAC, electrical, or a related mechanical field (technical school training is a plus, but not required)
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems and mechanical components
  • Willingness to learn and take direction from senior technicians
  • Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Good communication skills and a customer-friendly attitude
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in varied physical positions (kneeling, bending, reaching)
  • Reliable transportation to the shop/dispatch location
