Position Overview:

 

We are seeking a hands-on Systems Administrator with strong Microsoft cloud expertise to support and enhance a modern Azure and Microsoft 365 environment. This individual will serve as a senior-level technical resource responsible for system administration, cloud operations, user provisioning automation, endpoint support, and infrastructure management.

The ideal candidate will have experience administering Azure, Microsoft 365, Entra ID (Azure AD), networking technologies, and automation tools. This role will focus heavily on streamlining onboarding and operational workflows through Azure provisioning, API integrations, and custom development using C# and MySQL.

Term: 3 to 6 Month Contract-to-hire 

Location: Hybrid role - 3days on site in Dallas, TX 75243 

Pay: $50 - $70/hr - commensurate with experience  

Hours: Mon-Friday – Standard Business 

What you will do as the Azure Systems Administrator:

Microsoft Cloud Administration

  • Administer and support Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 environments.
  • Manage Entra ID (Azure AD), user identities, groups, licensing, and access controls.
  • Support Azure-based applications and cloud services.
  • Assist with Microsoft Copilot administration, configuration, and user enablement.
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and security across cloud environments.

User Provisioning & Automation

  • Design and maintain automated onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Automate creation of Active Directory, Entra ID, Microsoft 365, service desk, and phone system accounts using Azure provisioning tools and APIs.
  • Develop workflows that reduce manual administration and improve user onboarding efficiency.
  • Create and maintain PowerShell scripts and API integrations for identity lifecycle management.

Systems & Infrastructure Administration

  • Provide administration and support for Windows Server and Microsoft infrastructure technologies.
  • Manage endpoint devices, user accounts, permissions, and application access.
  • Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, application, and authentication issues.
  • Support backup, recovery, patching, and system maintenance initiatives.

Help Desk & Technical Support

  • Serve as a senior escalation point for Level 1 and Level 2 support teams.
  • Resolve complex desktop, application, networking, and Microsoft cloud issues.
  • Assist with root-cause analysis and proactive problem management.
  • Develop technical documentation, SOPs, and support knowledge base articles.

Networking & Security

  • Support LAN/WAN connectivity, VPNs, firewalls, and network infrastructure.
  • Manage DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, and network troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with security teams to maintain system compliance and security best practices.
  • Cisco administration experience is highly preferred.

Software Development & Workflow Management

  • Develop internal tools and applications using C# and .NET technologies.
  • Utilize MySQL databases to manage onboarding workflows, asset tracking, and operational reporting.
  • Build dashboards, reports, and workflow automation tools to improve IT service delivery.
  • Integrate systems through REST APIs and Microsoft cloud services.

What you will bring to the team: 

  • 5+ years of Systems Administration experience.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Azure administration.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft 365 environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Entra ID (Azure Active Directory).
  • Experience automating user provisioning and onboarding processes.
  • Knowledge of REST APIs and API integrations.
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows, cloud, and networking environments.
  • Experience supporting high-volume enterprise users.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing applications in C#/.NET.
  • Experience with MySQL or SQL Server databases.
  • Cisco networking experience (switching, routing, firewalls, VPNs).
  • Experience with Microsoft Intune and Endpoint Management.
  • Exposure to Microsoft Copilot administration and deployment.
  • Azure certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-900, or related Microsoft certifications.
  • Experience within a hybrid-cloud enterprise environment.
