Job description

JOB OVERVIEW

The Temp, Materials, is responsible for helping facilitate all fabric and trim development. This individual will partner with the cross-functional teams to support the execution of seasonal fabric and trim developments that meet all aesthetic requirements and align with sourcing strategy and cost targets.

 ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare fabric packages and send them to potential mills/vendors for sourcing
  • Prepare packages for lab dips and strike-offs for material development
  • Manage all development files, seasonal recaps, and processes statuses
  • Manage all fabric submissions, developments, and approvals
  • Maintain fabric and trim reference libraries for existing and future garments
  • Maintain lap dips and strike offs files
  • Measure samples as needed
  • Track samples with vendors
  • Receive and distribute packages within the materials department/team
  • Assist with data entry projects, as needed

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

  • Proficient in Microsoft Applications
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to measure garments
  • Ability to prioritize workflow based on deadlines
  • Ability to problem-solve and communicate all issues to cross-functional departments

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree or technical trade school and equivalent
  • Minimum 1-year experience in materials and apparel product development

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT (if applicable)

  • Work is performed in a designated professional office workstation and environment.
  • Extensive use of office equipment, including computer, calculator, copier, fax, and other business-related machines and software.
