APM Terminals

At APM Terminals, a global leader in port and terminal operations, we enable global trade and drive sustainable growth. What drives us forward is a mindset of always improving - observing how work happens, identifying what creates value, and removing what gets in the way. We constantly look for smarter, simpler, and safer ways of operating. If you thrive in environments where people value learning and are committed to continuously improve daily operations, join us and be a part of our journey.

What We Can Offer

At APM Terminals, we foster a dynamic learning and training culture that empowers our employees to excel. Our commitment to improvement means every team member has the opportunity to develop their skills and advance their careers by continuously refining how we work. Experience a diverse, multinational workplace where your operational insights directly influence how we work.

Work on global Asset Digitization and Operations Technology initiatives that support operational excellence across a diverse terminal portfolio.
Collaborate with international teams, terminal stakeholders, OEMs, and technology experts in a highly connected environment.
Develop expertise in industrial connectivity, automation, SCADA systems, IoT solutions, and terminal asset digitization.
Contribute to standardization and continuous improvement initiatives that create scalable and repeatable operational solutions.

Assets & Industrial Connectivity Engineer

Operational excellence is one of the core strategic pillars of APM Terminals' long-term strategy. As part of the Asset Digitization Solutions team within the Process Automation (Operations Technology) function, you will play a critical role in enabling the connection of terminal assets to digital platforms, ensuring reliable data flow and supporting the deployment of scalable technology solutions across our global network.

You will assess asset connectivity requirements, support hardware and infrastructure implementation, develop technical documentation, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure standardized, high-quality deployments. This role offers a unique opportunity to combine industrial automation, connectivity, and operational technology expertise in a global environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Define and implement technical requirements that enable data flow between terminal assets and Asset Digitization applications.
Assess terminal infrastructure, conduct audits, and establish technical action plans before project implementation.
Configure hardware devices, support installation and retrofitting activities, and enable the collection of new operational signals.
Define equipment-specific templates, classify and document signals, and coordinate signal mapping activities with OEMs.
Support commissioning, testing, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) activities to validate deployments.
Deliver technical documentation, installation standards, training materials, and knowledge transfer sessions for terminal teams.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and OEMs to deploy, standardize, and support Asset Digitization solutions across terminals.

What We Are Looking For:

Continuous improvement mindset: we are looking for someone who brings a thoughtful improvement mindset-curious about how work gets done and motivated to make meaningful, sustainable improvements over time.
Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline, with at least five years of experience in technology, operations, automation, or logistics-related environments.
Strong knowledge of port equipment, industrial automation systems, controls, industrial infrastructure architecture, and real-time operational environments.
Experience programming and troubleshooting PLC systems, including platforms such as Siemens, ABB, Yaskawa, Fuji, Omron, GE Fanuc, and similar technologies.
Solid understanding of industrial networking, device communication protocols, IoT integration, edge computing, cybersecurity practices, and infrastructure management.
Experience with SCADA platforms, particularly Ignition, alongside proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Python, and Linux.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder management, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across multicultural teams.
