Job description

A leading fintech organization is seeking a Principal F5 Network Engineer to join their team in a hybrid role based in Phoenix, Chicago, San Francisco, or New York. This is a full-time opportunity focused on advanced network architecture, leveraging technologies such as F5 BIG-IP, AWS load balancing, enterprise DNS, and hybrid cloud networking.
This role is ideal for an experienced network engineer who wants to operate at a strategic level while remaining hands-on. The organization is investing heavily in modernizing its infrastructure, and this individual will play a key role in shaping application delivery, load balancing, and disaster recovery strategies across a large-scale environment. It’s a strong opportunity to influence architecture decisions while mentoring other engineers and driving innovation.
Required Skills & Experience 12+ years of experience in network engineering, design, and support Deep expertise with F5 BIG-IP including LTM, APM, and ASM Strong experience with GTM, DNS, and enterprise traffic management solutions Background in routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP Hands-on experience with Cisco and/or Juniper networking equipment Experience with load balancing across on-prem and cloud environments Knowledge of TCP/IP, OSI model, and core networking fundamentals Proven ability to lead large-scale projects such as data center migrations Strong troubleshooting, communication, and leadership skills
Desired Skills & Experience 15+ years of networking experience (assumption based on seniority) Experience with Infoblox DNS and AWS Route53 Exposure to cloud networking and software-defined networking ITIL certification or experience Background in consulting or vendor management
What You Will Be Doing Design and implement highly available application delivery solutions using F5 technologies Develop and manage traffic policies, iRules, and load balancing strategies Lead initiatives around DNS architecture and hybrid cloud networking Partner with infrastructure, application, and security teams to build scalable solutions Provide mentorship and guidance to engineering teams Ensure reliability, performance, and disaster recovery readiness across the network
