Job Summary:
Canopy is a fast-growing SaaS company in South Jordan, Utah building simple, powerful software for accounting firms. They are seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer to build and maintain testing frameworks, optimize workflows, and ensure high code quality through automation and collaboration with development teams.
Responsibilities:
• API Test & Framework Engineering: Actively participate in the development lifecycle by proactively digging into codebases and functionality. You will build out robust testing frameworks and share technical skills that enhance the entire team's ability to validate changes and implement automated tests for new features from the ground up.
• Current API tests maintenance: Update and fix existing api tests to follow all the backend changes for features. Updating and maintaining Postman api requests.
• Test Automation Framework Development: Build, enhance, and maintain our test automation framework to ensure comprehensive and efficient testing coverage.
• Agile Collaboration: Actively participate in QA, QA Auto and Agile planning meetings to identify optimal test coverage, implement technical solutions, and prioritize improvements for automation and testing processes.
• Tool Utilization and Integration: Leverage tools and technologies like Python, Pytest, PyCharm, Postman, Datadog, Mailosaur, GitHub, Jira, and CI/CD pipelines to maintain, develop, and enhance test automation projects and documentation.
• Data & AI Driven Testing: Engineer complex SQL scripts to meet project requirements while leveraging AI to build and optimize automation tests that align with the team's evolving needs.
• Hybrid Quality Engineering: Balance the ability to engineer sophisticated QAA solutions with a willingness to step in for manual QA. You will manually vet features to identify high-impact automation opportunities while ensuring the team maintains total quality coverage across the board.
Qualifications:
Required:
• 4-5 years QA testing with at least 3+ years in API Test Automation Engineering with hands-on experience in creating and maintaining automated testing frameworks.
• Proficiency in Python (3-5+ years) or another object-oriented programming language, with the ability to write clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
• Experience in writing SQL queries and working with relational databases.
• Exceptional debugging, troubleshooting, and analytical abilities to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and contribute to a collaborative engineering environment.
Preferred:
• Experience working in an Agile development environment or familiarity with data warehousing or data pipelines.
