Job Summary:

The API Integration Specialist will be responsible for integrating and maintaining APIs to ensure seamless data exchange between internal applications and third-party services, focusing on performance and reliability.
Responsibilities:
• Design, implement, and manage API integrations between third-party/off-the-shelf applications and internal applications using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform.
• Build and configure connections to various data sources, internal applications, and cloud-based platforms via APIs.
• Collaborate with front-end users, API owners, and other IT Teams to understand integration requirements and translate them into scalable solutions.
• Support lifecycle development including analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment.
• Monitor API performance, logs, and error handling to ensure system reliability.
• Adhere to the Bank’s procedures and ensure development and deployment align to internal Change Management policies.
• Ensure APIs meet security, compliance, and regulatory standards.
• Create technical documentation that provides details on how the systems are in support of business processes and meet audit standards.
• Optimize APIs for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Learn and apply best practices in API security and authentication.
• Analyze, interpret, and efficiently apply changes to existing code.
• Utilize Azure DevOps for API deployment, version control, and CI/CD support.
Qualifications:
Required:
• 2+ years of experience in API development or systems integration experience required.
• Hands-on experience with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, including API Manager and Exchange.
• Proficient in creating API specifications and documentation using RAML or Swagger/Open API/Postman.
• The ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple integration projects simultaneously.
• Understanding of API security principles and encryption protocols.
• Ability to follow technical instructions and contribute to documentation.
• Eagerness for learning new tools, technologies, and integration patterns.
• Familiarity with data formats such as JSON and XML.
• Strong problem-solving mindset and eagerness to learn.
• A passion for staying on top of technology trends to keep up with emerging technologies.
• Proficiency in software development methodology and release process.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred:
• BS / MS in computer science, software engineering, or a related field is preferred, but not required.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, API versioning, and automated testing frameworks (e.g., Azure DevOps) is a plus.
• Familiarity with one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript) is a plus.
