Job description

Must Have Technical/Functional Skills
Primary skills: API Architecture & Design (RESTful APIs, Microservices, SOAP/GraphQL), API Security (OAuth, JWT), and API Integration with strong expertise in scalability, performance, and API management platforms.
Experience: Minimum 10+ years
Roles & Responsibilities
A Web API Architect designs, builds, and maintains secure, scalable, and high-performance API platforms. Key responsibilities include creating RESTful, SOAP, or GraphQL designs, integrating third-party services, establishing security protocols (OAuth, JWT), and creating comprehensive documentation. They ensure system reliability and mentor development teams.
Key Responsibilities:
o Design and Implementation: Develop robust, scalable API architectures (RESTful, microservices) that follow best practices.
o Security & Protocols: Implement security protocols, including OAuth, JWT, and API keys.
o Integration & Documentation: Integrate third-party APIs and create detailed documentation for internal/external consumers.
o Performance Optimization: Perform API testing to ensure high performance and reliability.
o Strategy & Standards: Define enterprise-wide API standards, including pub/sub messaging and device state management.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
o Experience: Previous experience designing and implementing API frameworks, Webservices, often in microservice environments.
o Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in backend languages (e.g., Java, Python) and familiarity with API management platforms and gateways.
o Architectural Styles: Deep understanding of RESTful API design, HTTP protocols, and GraphQL.
o Communication: Strong interpersonal skills for leading technical discussions and mentoring teams
