API & GCP Architect Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Apigee Architect to lead the design and implementation of enterprise API and microservices solutions, driving API strategy, governance, security, and cloud-native architecture. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Apigee Edge, Apigee X, Apigee Hybrid, GCP, and Microservices Architecture, with the ability to provide technical leadership across large-scale digital transformation initiatives. Career Growth: This role offers a strong leadership path and is expected to evolve into a Global GCP Practice Head position, providing an opportunity to shape cloud strategy, drive practice growth, and lead enterprise cloud transformation initiatives globally.

Location Preference: Atlanta, GA or Exton, PA (Preferred) Travel: Willingness to travel as required for client engagements and leadership responsibilities. Employment Type: Full-Time / 1099 Joining Timeline: Immediate Joiners Preferred Key Responsibilities Design and architect enterprise APIs using Apigee Edge, Apigee X, and Apigee Hybrid. Lead API development, deployment, governance, and lifecycle management.

Design and implement microservices-based architectures using Java/Spring Boot and cloud-native principles. Architect and deploy API management and integration solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Establish API security using OAuth 2.0, JWT, OpenID Connect, SSL/TLS, mTLS, and threat protection policies

Define API governance standards, best practices, and reusable frameworks. Drive containerization and deployment using Docker, Kubernetes, GKE, and Apigee Hybrid runtime environments. Implement monitoring, analytics, logging, and performance optimization for APIs and microservices.

Provide technical leadership, architecture guidance, and mentorship to engineering teams. Required Skills Strong experience with Apigee Edge, Apigee X, and Apigee Hybrid architecture and API management. Expertise in REST APIs, JSON, XML, OpenAPI/Swagger, and API lifecycle management.

Hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices Architecture. Strong Google Cloud Platform (GCP) experience, including GKE, Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage, IAM, Monitoring, and Logging. Experience deploying and managing Apigee Hybrid on Kubernetes/GKE.

Strong understanding of API security (OAuth 2.0, JWT, OIDC, SSL/TLS, mTLS). Experience with JavaScript, Python, or Shell scripting. Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices

Preferred Qualifications Google Cloud and Apigee certifications preferred. Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC). Knowledge of event-driven architectures using Pub/Sub, Kafka, or RabbitMQ.

Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Cloud Monitoring, Splunk, or ELK. Ideal Profile 10+ years of software development and integration experience. 5+ years of hands-on experience with Apigee Edge/X/Hybrid.

Strong expertise in GCP cloud architecture, API management, microservices, Kubernetes, and enterprise integration. Proven experience designing and delivering large-scale, secure, cloud-native API platforms on GCP and Apigee Hybrid. Leadership mindset with the ability to build and scale cloud practices and mentor high-performing engineering teams.
