Job description

Job Summary:
Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Vision API solution architect to join their Computer Vision Systems group, which provides Vision IP solutions for Snapdragon processors. The role involves designing and implementing Computer Vision APIs, guiding development teams, and collaborating with various teams to ensure successful API commercialization.
Responsibilities:
• Drive the overall design & Implement Computer Vision APIs as part of the Snapdragon Vision API Suite.
• Guide development teams in developing and deploying Computer Vision APIs and API-based applications commercially.
• Create comprehensive technical documentation, diagrams, and examples outlining the APIs and highlighting the benefits to end applications.
• Ensure solutions meet project timelines and KPI standards, while mitigating and addressing any potential schedule risks.
• Collaborate with systems, software, hardware, and product teams at various stages of API design/validation/commercialization.
• Working within a fast-paced & collaborative environment with geographically & functionally distributed teams
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelors in Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering
• A minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in a technical role focused on computer-vision applications and/or library development.
• The candidate must demonstrate a deep understanding of computer vision concepts, techniques, and algorithms, including deep-learning based vision pipelines, and proven experience in delivering commercial computer vision solutions.
• The candidate must demonstrate proficiency in API design principles, standards, and best practices to create efficient, scalable, and user-friendly APIs.
• Proficiency in C/C++/Python coding and debugging with an ability to quickly build and evaluate API prototypes.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
• Master's degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
• PhD in Computer or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
Preferred:
• Masters or Doctorate, Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering
• Familiarity with computer vision libraries like OpenCV, TensorFlow, Pytorch(Torch Vision) with hands-on experience in image processing, machine learning, and deep learning technologies.
• Working Knowledge of Embedded systems and architectures, preferably Hardware CV accelerators.
• Familiarity with API documentation standards, with substantial experience in writing comprehensive documentation to clearly articulate technical concepts and details.
• Working Knowledge of Commercial Software development and SDLC processes.
