Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce's client in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Software Engineer to support enterprise-level API engineering initiatives. This role will focus on designing, building, and maintaining scalable .NET-based APIs within a modern microservices architecture.This is a hands-on engineering role ideal for someone with strong backend development experience and exposure to cloud-native and DevOps practices.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs using .NET and C#
  • Build scalable microservices-based applications
  • Develop and support web applications and backend services
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment
  • Implement and support CI/CD pipelines
  • Monitor application performance and troubleshoot issues
  • Ensure high availability and scalability of systems
  • Contribute to architectural decisions and best practices

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience

Strong experience with:
  • .NET/C#
  • RESTful API development
  • Microservices architecture
  • SQL and NoSQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
  • JavaScript frameworks (Node.js, React, Angular, or Vue)
  • Python
  • Git version control
  • Agile methodologies

Experience with:
  • Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • CI/CD practices
  • Application performance monitoring and troubleshooting
  • Scalability and high availability design

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Exposure to AWS services (API Gateway, Lambda, EC2, S3, etc.)
  • Understanding of serverless architecture

  • Financial services or banking domain experience

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
