Position
AP European History Teacher

Responsibilities
  • Teach AP European History classes and help students build a strong understanding of major historical periods, key events, and long-term developments in European history
  • Guide students in mastering AP exam requirements, including document analysis, historical argumentation, and academic writing
  • Develop lesson plans tailored to students’ learning needs and academic goals
  • Assign and review homework, essays, and practice work, and provide timely feedback to students and parents when needed
  • Support students in improving critical thinking, historical reasoning, and exam-taking strategies
  • Contribute to curriculum planning and instructional improvement when necessary
Qualifications
  • Strong academic background in history, especially European or world history
  • Familiarity with the AP European History curriculum and exam format
  • Previous teaching or tutoring experience preferred, especially in AP-level courses
  • Strong English reading, writing, and communication skills
  • Responsible, patient, and detail-oriented, with the ability to explain complex historical concepts clearly
  • Passion for education and the ability to engage and motivate students
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience preparing students for the AP European History exam
  • Familiarity with DBQ, LEQ, and SAQ instruction
  • Background in history, education, humanities, or a related field
  • Overseas academic experience is a plus
