What the day will look like

The Broker I will support clients and colleagues in making better decisions through promoting and ensuring connectivity, collaboration and cooperation within local office practices and functions and fostering the sharing of knowledge, best practices and resources around multinational accounts.

  • The Broker maintains effective and productive relationships with internal and external clients
  • Design, placement and servicing of large and complex international casualty insurance program, including those with alternative risk financing structures
  • Draft assigned elements of client service plans, stewardship reports, and other presentations tailored to the needs of the audience and the circumstances of the presentation.
  • Liaise with Aon network offices on global program coordination activities, including values collection, premium allocations, and premium tracking
  • Explain general coverages to insurance buyers who are not familiar with insurance practices. Enlist Aon regional experts to address specialized needs
  • Understanding and articulating value of various account service and revenue structures for international insurance programs to internal and external stakeholders
  • Keep abreast of market trends, pricing practices, and other underwriting policies within to communicate to clients and coordinating offices
  • Apply logical thinking and past experiences to problems and solutions and recognize when more information is needed to make a decision.
  • Provide international casualty technical expertise to a portfolio of complex multinational accounts, as well and supporting ad hoc requests from colleagues within the office and/or region
  • Demonstrates unwavering commitment to high performance in the process of regional account management and sets a personal standard of high quality and integrity for self and others
  • Working to contribute towards growth and retention targets
  • Mentoring junior broker staff and other key partners on international casualty placements, multinational client service strategies
  • Engage in new business and penetration opportunities
  • Manage existing book of business for profitability
  • Performs related duties as assigned 

 

How this opportunity is different

The AGCN Broker is responsible for the management of a complex portfolio of international accounts, including the placement and service, and ensuring multinational client deliverables are maintained. This individual is accountable for acting as the AGCN representative for the local office or region on new business opportunities and any training needs for internal and external clients.

This individual leads by example as a strong sponsor of Aon’s Leadership Model; supporting local AGCN colleagues; promoting and ensuring connectivity, collaboration and partnership within local office practices and functions and fostering the sharing of knowledge, best practices and resources around multinational accounts.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

Minimum 3+ years of experience providing counsel to multinational clients including coordination of service for outward business, negotiating multinational insurance programs, and/or leading collaboration across offices and/or geographies to support multinational risk management/finance practices on behalf of insureds, brokers, and/or insurers. 

Required Experience:

  • Exceptional knowledge of multinational risk financing/insurance programs and supporting counsel and service with a focus on international casualty programs 
  • Hands on experience within Casualty/P&C (Workers Compensation, Commercial Auto, General Liability)
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Multicultural awareness
  • Strong Microsoft Suite skills
  • Exceptional presentation skills
  • Demonstrated Leadership skills
  • Property and Casualty Brokers License will need to be obtained in the first 90 days of hire.

Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of insurance industry experience.

Pay Transparency Laws:

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $83,000 - $110,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.  The salary may also be adjusted based on the applicant’s geographic location.

The salary range reflected is based on a primary work location of Chicago, IL.  The actual salary may vary for applicants in a different geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary.  The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
