Job description

Position Summary

The Customer Service Representative serves as a primary point of contact for product inquiries, quoting, receiving orders, and updating order status through courteous and timely communication with customers, while maintaining an effective channel of communication with shipping and production scheduling.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Answering incoming communications (email, messaging, phone calls).
  • Assist in selling products by remaining current on product offerings, pricing, and lead times
  • Trace and expedites late orders to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Redirecting customer challenges to management as needed
  • Communicating special customer needs and expectations to the appropriate department(s)
  • Contacting customers to communicate status updates and obtain missing information to ensure an accurate customer information.
  • Maintaining customer data, including setting up new customers.
  • Assisting in developing price lists, calculating prices, discounts and proposals to meet specific customer requirements in an efficient manner.
  • Capturing all service and product quality issues per the defined processes.
  • Coordinates and oversees the completion of special projects as needed
  • Other duties as required

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • High school diploma or GED; two years college or directly related work experience preferred
  • Five years of experience with customer interactions
  • Positive, enthusiastic personality with a commitment to customer service
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Able to use mathematical formulas to calculate discounts, margins, and other financial considerations
  • Able to operate standard office equipment efficiently, including multi-line telephone system, FAX, copy machine, computers, and printers.
  • Intermediate or better capabilities with Microsoft Office – Teams, Word, Excel & PowerPoint
  • Able to learn business management software as required
  • Other task as required
