Job description

About LearnLux

LearnLux is the leading provider of workplace financial wellbeing, blending fiduciary digital planning with access to one-on-one guidance from Certified Financial Planner professionals. Our award-winning program helps employees navigate critical financial decisions from budgeting and benefits elections to equity compensation, home buying, and retirement so they can feel confident about their money and focused at work. Advanced reporting helps our partners understand impact, driving outcomes like reduced financial stress, increased productivity, and improved retention.

We're building LearnLux with intention. We move quickly, operate with a high bar for quality, and value people who take ownership of their work. If you're energized by solving new problems, taking accountability, and pushing yourself to do your best work every day, you'll find this a rewarding environment.

We're a venture-backed company that has raised over $35M to date and is supported by experienced investors and long-term partners. We're a growth-focused business building for scale, and we're excited by the opportunities and challenges that come with that journey.

The Role

LearnLux is hiring a Senior Certified Financial Planner to serve as the team's specialist in high net worth planning and complex equity compensation. You'll work with members holding significant, often concentrated wealth, multi-vehicle equity packages, pre- and post IPO positions, and tax complexities. You will help members make sense of high-stakes decisions that don't always have textbook answers.ย

ย This is a chance to shape how a growing startup delivers financial guidance, working directly with employees rather than behind a desk, and helping build the playbook for HNW and equity Comp planning as we go.

This role is 100% remote within the US and reports to the Director of Financial Planning.

What you'll do
  • Serve as the team's senior expert on high net worth planning and complex equity compensation, handling escalated and technically demanding member cases
  • Guide members on sophisticated equity scenarios: concentrated stock positions, 10b5-1 trading plans, QSBS qualification, AMT and ISO exercise strategy, early-exercise elections, secondary sale considerations, and RSU/ESPP optimization across public and private companies
  • Meet with clients remotely over video, chat, and email on the full range of financial topics budgeting, student loans, retirement readiness, equity compensation, debt management, investments and taxes with particular depth in tax planning, investment strategy, estate and trust considerations, and multi-generational wealth transfer
  • Shape how LearnLux responds to a changing financial and regulatory environment, applying and adapting the LearnLux methodology toย  complex, high-stakes client situations
  • Bring your expertise into weekly team meetings, mentoring other planners on HNW and equity comp best practices and sharpening the whole team's approach
  • Become fluent in your client company's benefit plans, including equity plans so you can act as an extension of their team
  • Partner with our content team to build outlines, lessons, and video content, with a natural emphasis on equity compensation and tax planning topics
  • Design and lead engagement campaigns for employer partners, including webinars and occasional on-site events
  • Provide coverage across shifts from 7 AM to 11 PM ET Monday through Friday, and 9 AM to 4 PM ET on Saturdaysย
You should bring
  • An active CFP designation with at least 7 years of experience after achieving the designation, including substantial time advising high net worth clients
  • Deep, hands-on experience guiding on complex equity compensation: ISOs, NSOs, RSUs, ESPP, SARs, QSBS concentrated positions, and the associated tax and planning implications, including AMT and mult-year exercise/sale strategy
  • A track record of building comprehensive financial plans for high net worth individuals, including investment strategy, roth conversion strategiesย  tax planning and estate and wealth transfer considerations
  • Comfort service as the technical authority for the most complex client situations, while still be able to translate that complexity into clear, actionable guidance
  • A genuine drive to help people take control of their financial future, whatever their starting point
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities, take direction from several team members, and act on your own initiative
  • Broad experience across personal finance: retirement, investments, budgeting, debt management, student loans, cash flow planning, digital currencies, estate planning, insurance, taxes, and more
It would be great if you also
  • CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) designation
  • CPWA (Certified Private Wealth Advisor) or similar HNW-focused certification
  • Experience with trust and estate planning, or working alongside estate attorneys and tax professionals
  • Startup and/or Fintech experience
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish)
  • Experience creating presentations and presenting to large audiences virtually or in-person
  • Availability to work occasional evenings and Saturday's
  • Ability to occasionally travel to on-site events
LearnLux is a fit for you if you
  • Thrive in fast-moving environments and enjoy building in moments of change. We operate with urgency, and roles, priorities, and approaches evolve as we grow.
  • Like wearing multiple hats and helping define the path forward. At LearnLux, roles evolve as we grow, and employees often help create clarity, structure, and direction where it didn't previously exist.
  • Take initiative and don't wait to be asked. You see problems as opportunities and are comfortable stepping in to move work forward.
  • Are energized by ambiguity and willing to make decisions with imperfect information. We learn quickly by doing, and pace is a competitive advantage for us.
  • Enjoy being hands-on and owning work end to end. While strategic thinking matters, execution, follow-through, and accountability are what drive impact here.
  • Are motivated by high standards and continuous improvement. As we hit new milestones, we intentionally raise the bar on quality, ownership, and outcomes.
  • Value clear, frequent communication and collaboration. As a remote team, staying aligned through proactive communication is core to how we operate.
Benefits
  • Remote-first company structure
  • Medical, dental, and vision
  • 401(k)
  • Mental wellbeing (Talkspace)
  • Financial wellbeing (LearnLux)
  • Paid vacation and sick leave
  • Paid sabbatical after 5 years of service
  • A supportive, inclusive team culture
  • Opportunities for continuous learning and growth at a fast-growing startup at the cutting edge intersection of financial wellness and technology
