Job description


A financial services organization in North Carolina is seeking an Ansible Automation Engineer to join their team in Charlotte. The role focuses on building reliable automation that can move workloads between data centers across complex infrastructure and application environments.


About the Opportunity:



  • Schedule: Monday to Friday

  • Hours: Standard business

  • Setting: Hybrid (at least 2 days a week onsite)


Responsibilities:



  • Develop and maintain Ansible collections, roles, playbooks, modules, and workflow templates for workload mobility automation

  • Design end-to-end orchestration across compute, operating systems, storage, databases, network, middleware, applications, and service-management platforms

  • Translate technical designs and operational requirements into reusable and supportable automation content

  • Integrate Ansible Automation Platform with APIs, credential stores, source control, and enterprise tools

  • Troubleshoot automation issues across platform, code, dependency, connectivity, credential, API, and target-system layers


Qualifications:



  • 5-7+ years of infrastructure automation experience

  • Experience using Ansible to orchestrate complex failover across storage, network, middleware, infrastructure, and application dependencies

  • Experience automating unplanned failover or disaster recovery between data centers within banking, financial services, or another highly regulated environment

  • Hands-on experience developing enterprise automation solutions with Ansible

  • Advanced practical knowledge of Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform and its core components

  • Experience creating reusable Ansible collections, roles, playbooks, modules, inventories, and workflow templates

  • Experience designing orchestration across multiple infrastructure or application domains

  • Strong Python and YAML skills with practical experience using Git-based source control

  • Experience building or maintaining execution environments and managing automation dependencies

  • Strong troubleshooting skills across Linux, automation code, APIs, authentication, network connectivity, and target platform integrations

  • Ability to produce clear technical designs and documentation and work within formal review and approval processes

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a regulated enterprise environment with multiple engineering and operational stakeholders

  • Hands-on experience with data center failover, workload mobility, DR automation, infrastructure resiliency, or application recovery


Desired Skills:



  • Experience integrating Ansible Automation Platform with ServiceNow, CMDB, ITSM, change-management, or request-fulfillment processes

  • Experience with Windows, VMware, storage and replication technologies, databases, network infrastructure, middleware, cloud platforms, or application operations

  • Experience with CyberArk or another enterprise credential-management platform

  • Experience with Terraform

  • Experience with NetApp, SRDF, MQ, synchronous replication, or enterprise storage replication

  • Experience applying testing, linting, peer review, CI/CD, and release-management practices to infrastructure automation content
