We are a dream team obsessed with the uncomfortable excitement of discovering what happens when you merge creativity, intuition and cutting-edge technology. Come be a part of what's next.
The Opportunity
Vine Studios is Netflix's LA-based Series Animation production facility, offering collaborative review spaces, premium offline edit bays, a scratch room, and a screening room. Our Production Services team acts as the primary point of contact for engineering and technical operational support for productions at Vine Studios, helping shows navigate production and post production challenges from development through delivery, and partnering with our broader engineering teams to resolve issues that require deeper technical expertise. As the team grows, we're looking for a Senior Production Technology Engineer to provide hands-on technical support and ensure productions get consistent, high-quality service.
The Role
The Senior Production Technology Engineer provides hands-on technical support to productions at Vine Studios, troubleshooting issues in real time and keeping specialty rooms, edit bays, and screening rooms running smoothly. This role works directly with production and post production executives, producers, and creative teams day to day, and requires the ability to translate complex technical issues into clear, actionable guidance for creative and production stakeholders. It also partners closely with Media Systems and Production Engineering teams, escalating issues that require deeper technical expertise. The ideal candidate brings strong post production and production support experience, is comfortable working directly with creative stakeholders under pressure, and can bridge technical and creative conversations with ease.
Responsibilities:
  • Provides day-to-day technical support across specialty rooms, edit bays, and Editorial for Netflix Series Animation at Vine Studios, including on-site preventative maintenance and calibration to ensure optimum performance
  • Troubleshoots and resolves technical issues in real time, assessing urgency against production context and escalating appropriately
  • Identifies recurring issues and contributes to root cause analysis, helping to reduce repeat incidents and improve support efficiency
  • Works directly with production executives, post production executives, editors, and production creatives across active shows, maintaining regular proactive touch points to stay ahead of issues
  • Supports facility projects at Vine Studios including specialty room refreshes and edit bay upgrades, in coordination with Media Systems and Production Engineering teams
  • Partners with engineering stakeholder teams to evolve tools, platforms, and workflows for production and creative pipelines - evaluating software needs and flagging solutions to production stakeholders
  • Partners and collaborates with the in-house VFX Manager to provide additional pipeline support and color workflow guidance for productions and creative artists working remotely and at Vine Studios
  • Coordinates with internal tech support teams that handle initial production support, stepping in when issues require more specialized troubleshooting
  • Provides technical context and details to Media Systems and Production Engineering partners to support Tier 2 & 3 escalations
  • Supports screening room scheduling and usage across productions; helps maintain operational readiness for screening and review room support
  • Translates technical issues and options into clear, understandable guidance so productions know what support is available, how to escalate, and what to expect

Qualifications:
  • 5-10 years of experience in production or post engineering and/or production technology at a post production facility or studio
  • Post production and production support experience with deep knowledge of production and post-production workflows - including non-linear editing, color science, VFX, and audio mastering
  • Knowledge of the technical and artistic fundamentals of animation and VFX, including 2D and CG pipelines
  • Strong relationships and hands-on knowledge of key industry manufacturers, their tools, and software, such as Avid, Adobe Premiere, Foundry, and SyncSketch

  • Experience across Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems and workstation hardware (GPUs, memory, etc.), along with the Google Tool Suite
  • Strong ability to translate complex technical issues into clear, understandable language for creative and production stakeholders, building collaborative relationships and working well across cross-functional teams
  • Calm and decisive under pressure or in ambiguous situations - thinks on your feet and owns problems through to resolution
  • Stays current on emerging production and post production technologies; flags relevant developments to the team
