Job description

There are many Delivery Service Partners (DSPs) for you to work at in the DMV area, but we truly believe youll LOVE being part of Angry Byrd Logistics! Woman-owned and launched in 2021, Angry Byrd Logistics focuses not only on delivering thousands of smiles to Amazon customers, but on developing our delivery associates into professional drivers in a supportive and fast-paced environment. We are based out of Hanover, and deliver within Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Montgomery County, and Anne Arundel County.

We are currently seeking an experienced, enthusiastic dispatcher/driver to join our delivery team and help manage our fantastic group of over 100 delivery associates. If you are a proactive problem solver with a passion for logistics and customer service, we encourage you to apply!

***Note: All Dispatcher candidates must complete a trial period as a Delivery Associate to before fully transitioning into the Dispatcher role***

What You'll Do as a Dispatcher

  • Coordinate and oversee 40+ daily delivery routes for drivers, ensuring all packages are delivered on time and in the most efficient manner.
  • Manage the daily loadout/dispatch process to ensure all drivers are equipped to start delivery on time.
  • Manage end of day/closing process (vehicle inspection, asset return, RTS oversight, ensuring vehicles are parked properly for mobile fueling and maintenance)
  • Constantly monitor routes (Cortex) and safety (Netradyne), providing updates/feedback and immediate coaching as necessary to ensure consistent adherence to safety and delivery requirements.
  • Address any issues or challenges drivers may encounter during their routes and provide solutions to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Ensure that all drivers adhere to company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, driver logs, and delivery data
  • Prepare daily and weekly reports for management review
  • Effectively communicate with Amazon station management (verbally and via Slack) on route progress and barriers.
  • Ensure all on-the-road incidents are properly reported and documented within 24 hours.
  • Complete new driver ridealongs and training.
  • Sweep/execute routes if operationally required.


Qualifications

  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, or overtime as needed
  • Availability to work 10 hour shift, 4 days a week (including one weekend day) - rotating between opening and closing schedules
  • Team leadership experience REQUIRED
  • 2+ years of Amazon Delivery Driver experience
  • 1+ years of Amazon DSP Dispatch experience
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to provide clear and concise instructions
  • Proficiency in using Cortex routing and dispatch software, as well as standard office and communication software (Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, Slack, WhatsApp etc)
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to think on your feet and make quick decisions
  • At least 21 years old and legally authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Valid (non-provisional) driver's license within the state of Maryland
