Visiting Angels, America’s Choice in Homecare, is seeking In-Home Aides, both CNAs,Personal Care Aides and experienced caregivers, in Dorchester, Berkeley, and Charleston Counties. Visiting Angels is a national, private duty network of home care agencies and the nation's leading provider of non-medical senior home care services. We are proud of our reputation for providing seniors with compassionate, caring, knowledgeable caregivers. Our services allow seniors to remain independent safely in their homes with dignity. If you have these same qualities and a love for the senior community, then you may be the next “ANGEL" in our elite staff of caregiving professionals. Work part-time, days, evenings, weekends, or even overnights. Provides personal one-on-one care to the client. Ongoing need to fill this role

Requirements 
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license, working vehicle, commuting required, and current, up-to-date insurance
  • Must adhere to plans of care for the client
  • Must have flexibility with schedules per client needs
  • One year of in-home caregiver experience preferred
  • Must have good communication skills, have active listening,  between clients/families and staff
  • Must be able to be calm in emergent situations and inform staff of any changes to client status 
  • Pass background and drug screening
Responsibilities
  • Assist clients with ambulation and mobility 
  • Medication reminders
  • Assist clients with personal care and hygiene
  • Prepare light meals according to dietary restrictions
  • Transportation to and from shops, pharmacy or appointments 
  • Perform light housekeeping duties for the client
  • Be a pleasant, engaging, and supportive companion

Skills
  • One year of proven experience as an in-home caregiver (Preferred)
  • Knowledge and demonstration of DME such as hoyer lift, wheelchairs, transfer bench, walker/training is available
  • Excellent knowledge of emergency response, CPR preferred
  • Knowledge of housekeeping activities 
  • Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards
  • Respectful and compassionate
  • Good time management skills
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
