Job description

About Wolf Games

Wolf Games is building the platform for generative entertainment universes - living, ever-expanding worlds where creators, players, and AI collaborate in real time. Our first universe, Public Eye, turns everyone into a detective. Across a suite of crime-solving games, players collect evidence, crack cases, and rise through the ranks of a connected detective program. We're creating a future where game development and player experience are tightly connected through intelligent systems that learn, adapt, and surprise.

About the role

Note: We've been getting a lot (hundreds!) of applications from candidates who don't specifically have mobile browser / HTML 5 game experience. For this role, this is a non-negotiable. We'd love to work with you in the future on something different, but please do not apply to this role if you don't fully meet that requirement. Thank you!

We're looking for a QA Engineer to build and manage AI-driven QA systems that autonomously verify, play, and bulletproof our mobile HTML5 games. This is a role for someone who sees QA as an engineering discipline - prioritizing AI tooling, automated playthroughs, and script generation over manual clicking.

You will transform traditional manual testing into a highly automated, continuous pipeline of AI bug hunts, autonomous playthroughs, and AI code reviews. As Wolf Games scales to produce daily live content, our testing surface area is exploding. Traditional manual QA cannot keep pace with an AI-driven development pipeline that ships daily. We need someone who builds AI systems to test what our AI systems build.

The time you save through automation goes directly into what humans do best: evaluating game feel, tuning, balance, and "finding the fun." You'll be the human arbiter of taste while your AI agents handle the regression testing.

You will report to the Director of Engineering and work closely with engineering and creative leadership to:

  • Design and deploy AI agents capable of autonomously playing through our HTML5 games to validate core loops, progression logic, and edge cases.
  • Build an automated "AI Bug Hunt" system that continuously explores daily builds to identify physics glitches, UI overlaps, and rendering anomalies across mobile browser environments.
  • Integrate QA deeply into Wolf's AI-driven development process, writing the test parameters, prompts, and acceptance criteria that our AI coding tools use to generate game features.
  • Implement automated AI code reviews that scan incoming pull requests for performance bottlenecks, memory leaks, and mobile web anti-patterns before human review.
  • Develop automated systems to simulate and test device fragmentation - iOS Safari memory limits, Android Chrome touch latency, variable network speeds.
  • Embed AI QA gates directly into the CI/CD pipeline, halting builds that fail automated visual or state-based checks.
  • Run structured internal play-test sessions for rapid prototypes, translating subjective design feedback into objective, testable parameters.
  • Reduce manual regression testing by 90% through AI-augmented end-to-end testing.
What you'll bring
  • Extensive experience shipping and maintaining mobile browser / HTML5 games. This is non-negotiable. See note at the top of the job description.
  • Proven track record testing browser-based games built with Pixi.js, Phaser, Three.js, or custom WebGL engines.
  • Deep familiarity with LLMs, AI agents, and prompt engineering. You know how to instruct an AI to review code, write test scripts, or analyze game logs.
  • Strong scripting skills in TypeScript/JavaScript and experience with modern testing frameworks (Playwright, Cypress, Puppeteer) combined with AI-assisted workflows.
  • Solid understanding of TDD methodologies and how to apply them in an AI-code-generation environment.
  • Highly developed taste for games - strong intuition for what makes a game fun and the ability to articulate design feedback constructively.
  • Deep empathy for the player experience, prioritizing issues based on how heavily they disrupt the core gameplay loop.
  • An automation-obsessive mindset. If you have to manually test something twice, your instinct is to build an AI agent or script to do it forever.
  • Exceptional communication skills - your bug tickets and AI test prompts are precise, clear, and immediately actionable.
  • Comfort operating in a high-velocity environment where builds happen daily and traditional QA timelines do not exist.
Nice to have
  • Experience configuring visual regression tools for WebGL/Canvas environments.
  • Background training or fine-tuning AI models for testing applications.
  • Prior work embedding QA automation into CI/CD pipelines at scale.
  • Experience with AAA-level QA rigor applied to mobile or web game contexts.
Why Wolf Games

We are a small, creative, and collaborative team that values curiosity, craftsmanship, and experimentation. We believe small wins lead to big wins - and that the right QA systems, built by the right engineer, can let a small team ship at startup speed with AAA quality. If you're excited to industrialize quality assurance through AI while defending the fun, we'd love to hear from you.
