POSITION OVERVIEW
Johnson Fitness & Wellness is seeking an Ecommerce Data & Analytics Engineer to develop and maintain the data infrastructure, reporting systems, and analytics capabilities supporting our ecommerce and omnichannel business. This position is responsible for integrating data across ecommerce, website analytics, CRM, marketing, retail POS, ERP, and operational systems to create a centralized and reliable view of business and customer performance.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience building scalable data pipelines and reporting solutions, with the ability to translate complex datasets into actionable business insights. This position will work closely with ecommerce, digital product, marketing, CRM, retail operations, merchandising, and leadership teams to improve visibility into the customer journey, identify growth opportunities, and support data-driven decision making.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Engineering & Integration
• Build and maintain scalable data pipelines that connect ecommerce, website analytics, CRM, marketing, POS, ERP, advertising, attribution, and operational systems
• Develop and maintain ETL/ELT processes to automate data ingestion, transformation, normalization, and reporting
• Establish reliable data models, schemas, and reporting standards to improve data consistency and accuracy
• Integrate APIs and third-party data sources into centralized data and reporting environments
• Monitor data pipelines and reporting processes to identify and resolve data quality, reliability, and performance issues
• Maintain documentation for data sources, definitions, integrations, and reporting structures
Reporting & Analytics
• Build and maintain centralized dashboards and reporting systems supporting ecommerce, customer lifecycle, retail showroom, marketing, product, and category performance
• Combine behavioral, transactional, marketing, and operational data to create a more complete view of business performance
• Develop reporting for key ecommerce metrics including traffic, product engagement, add-to-cart activity, checkout behavior, conversion, revenue, average order value, and product performance
• Develop customer and lifecycle reporting incorporating CRM, email engagement, segmentation, attribution, and purchase behavior
• Create reporting that improves visibility into retail and ecommerce performance across digital and physical customer touchpoints
• Identify trends, anomalies, performance gaps, and growth opportunities and communicate findings to business stakeholders
Ecommerce & Customer Journey Analytics
• Analyze the customer journey across website, ecommerce, marketing, CRM, retail, and post-purchase experiences
• Identify friction points and customer drop-off throughout product discovery, add-to-cart, checkout, purchase, delivery, and retention journeys
• Partner with ecommerce and digital product teams to identify conversion rate optimization opportunities
• Provide data and reporting necessary to support UX improvements, merchandising decisions, personalization, and customer experience initiatives
• Support A/B testing and experimentation by establishing measurement requirements, reporting results, and evaluating business impact
• Analyze product, category, and customer behavior to identify opportunities to improve conversion rate, average order value, and ecommerce revenue
Data Strategy & Business Support
• Partner with ecommerce, digital product, marketing, CRM, merchandising, retail operations, and leadership teams to define KPIs and reporting requirements
• Help establish consistent business definitions, attribution methodologies, and performance measurement standards
• Provide data and analysis supporting forecasting, merchandising strategy, inventory optimization, lifecycle marketing, and operational planning
• Support new product, brand, and category launches through performance measurement and customer behavior analysis
• Translate business questions into data requirements, analysis, and actionable recommendations
• Provide accurate and timely information that enables teams and leadership to make faster, data-driven business decisions

Requirements
Education:
Minimum of four-year degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Analytics, Engineering, or related field OR high school diploma/equivalent with equivalent work experience
Experience:
• Minimum 3+ years experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, business intelligence, or a related data-focused role
• Experience building and maintaining scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes
• Strong SQL experience with the ability to transform, organize, and analyze complex datasets
• Experience with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or similar platforms
• Proficiency in Python and/or R for data transformation and analysis
• Experience integrating APIs, third-party platforms, and multiple data sources
• Experience with BI and reporting platforms such as Looker, Tableau, Power BI, Sigma, Metabase, or similar tools
• Experience developing data models, schemas, and reporting structures that provide consistent and reliable business reporting
• Understanding of ecommerce analytics, customer journey measurement, conversion funnels, attribution, and lifecycle marketing
• Experience supporting ecommerce, retail, marketing, CRM, or other customer-focused business functions preferred
• Familiarity with customer data platforms, event-based analytics, marketing automation, and A/B testing frameworks preferred
Other Requirements:
• Able to work effectively across cross-functional teams and independently manage data and analytics initiatives
• A quick learner with the ability to translate business requirements and complex data into actionable recommendations
• An ability to work on multiple projects and priorities at the same time
• A valid driver's license is required for local travel
• Position will be subjected to pre-employment and annual motor vehicle record (MVR) checks. Must be able to successfully pass MVR checks to drive on behalf of the company.
