Responsibilities
  • Performs general analytics and statistical modeling on existing data sets in various areas of the business.
  • Supervises teams that gather relevant data from various sources, such as databases, spreadsheets, APIs, or data warehouses; ensures data integrity by cleaning and preprocessing it to remove errors, inconsistencies, or missing values that could affect the accuracy of the analysis.
  • Uses statistical and analytical techniques to explore and examine the data; applies various methods like descriptive statistics, data mining, predictive modeling, and machine learning algorithms to identify patterns, relationships, and trends within the data.
  • Transforms complex data into visual representations such as charts, graphs, and dashboards; provides a clear and concise way to present insights and findings to stakeholders, enabling them to understand the information easily and make data-driven decisions.
  • Creates reports and summaries that effectively communicate analysis and findings to non-technical audiences; includes key metrics, data visualizations, and actionable recommendations to help stakeholders understand the implications of the data and make informed decisions.
  • Derives actionable insights from the data analysis process; interprets results and understands the business context to provide valuable insights that drive strategic decision-making, optimize processes, improve performance, and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Monitors data quality, tracks performance metrics, and analyzes new data continuously to ensure that insights remain relevant and accurate over time; evaluates and improves data analytics methodologies and processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Works closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, business analysts, and stakeholders from different departments; collaborates to define analytical objectives, align data analysis with business needs, and communicate insights effectively.
  • Oversees the data analytics team, providing guidance, mentoring, and support to ensure high performance and professional growth; fosters a collaborative and innovative team environment that encourages continuous learning and development.
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Five or more years of combined experience performing or supervising the Data Analysis function.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in analytics, engineering, statistics, computer science, economics, business, or a related quantitative field.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience in analytics delivery, including personally developing, reviewing, and optimizing queries, models, and dashboards, while effectively balancing leadership responsibilities with technical contribution.
  • Experience leveraging generative AI-assisted coding tools to improve code quality and performance, accelerate query development, and enhance analytics team productivity while adhering to data governance and security standards.
  • Experience managing analytics or reporting operations in a regulated industry, such as electric utilities.
  • Demonstrated experience establishing, monitoring, and reporting on service level agreements (SLAs), key performance indicators (KPIs), and operational metrics.
  • Experience negotiating scope, priorities, and delivery timelines with clients or stakeholders in a resource-constrained environment.
  • Experience overseeing analytics delivery platforms and tools (e.g., SQL-based reporting, data warehouses, cloud analytics platforms).

Additional Information
  • This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
