Job description

NSS in search of a Finance Implementation Specialist to serve a client of ours that is a leader in workforce development and change management for government organizations.
The Finance Implementation Specialist is a mid-level role within the Contracts and Finance Department. This role is structured in a self-directed support capacity, with the expectation of diligence, problem-solving, resourcefulness, excellent written and verbal communication, and orientation for details and organization. At its inception, the Finance Implementation Specialist reports directly to the Senior Director of Contracts & Pricing, however based purely upon company growth, demand, and availability this role may report to a Director of Finance. This role's main interactions are internal to the corporation with the capability to perform cross- functionally with all departments, but primarily with other functional groups within the Administration Department. This position is responsible for supporting various contractual, financial, and bookkeeping responsibilities that will ensure compliance with General Acceptable Accounting Practices [GAAP], industry best practices, and substantial improvement of the Contracts and Finance Department.
Responsibilities:
Implementation: Research the existing Deltek CostPoint [CP] contract and document the currentlypurchased modules/components in written narrative for review.
Create a master project plan, detailing:o Scope Statemento Deliverableso Work Breakdown Structure/Tasks
o Schedule
o Budget
Estimates Costs Payment Termso Quality Assuranceo Human Resources Plan
o Major Milestones
Assist in data recording, data input, and data acquisition for installing the customized
CP with all necessary and new components.
Creating a weekly report and monthly report that details:o Objectiveso Project statuso Metrics and/or KPIs as applicable
o Progress made in the prior month
o Planned activities for the upcoming month
o Potential risks or hurdles that require intervention from senior leadership
o Accomplishments
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or Business Administration (desired)
  • Six to eight [6 to 8] years of work experience, with a minimum of four [4] years in an aligned discipline (i.e., bookkeeping, finance, accounting, etc.)
  • Working experience within a Government Contracting company highly preferred
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office Applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, SharePoint, Visio), and internet
  • Working knowledge of Deltek Cospointrequired
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and project management skills
  • Expanding knowledge and growth in problem solving, critical thinking, and data analysis
