Behavior Support Specialists

Hourly Rate: $20.00 – $50.00 per hour

Location: Newark, Delaware; Onsite Position Summary

As a Behavior Support Specialist, you will support students within a school-based setting by conducting behavioral assessments and developing individualized behavior support plans under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). This role collaborates closely with school staff and behavioral teams to support positive student outcomes and effective behavioral interventions. The ideal candidate is pursuing a career path in behavior analysis or related behavioral support services. Responsibilities Schedule / Shift
  • Shift details: School-day schedule, Monday–Friday
  • Hours per week: Full time
  • Contract length: School-based assignment
Key Duties
  • Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) for students requiring behavioral support
  • Develop individualized Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) based on assessment findings
  • Collaborate with school staff, behavioral teams, and educational professionals to support student success
  • Implement and monitor behavioral interventions under BCBA supervision
  • Collect, document, and analyze behavioral data to support intervention planning
  • Participate in meetings, trainings, and additional duties as assigned
  • Maintain compliance with district, state, and federal regulations regarding student support services
Requirements Education
  • Required: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Education, Psychology, Human Development, or related field
Licenses & Certifications
  • Required: Ability to complete criminal background check
  • Additional certifications: Documentation of PPD test within the last five years
  • Additional certifications: Child Protection Registry clearance
  • Additional certifications: Favorable drug screen results
Skills
  • Experience conducting Functional Behavior Assessments and developing Behavior Support Plans
