Job Description:

TD Securities Corporate & Investment Banking delivers financial advisory, capital-raising, liquidity, transaction banking, and risk management solutions to corporate and institutional clients.

This Associate role sits within the Corporate & Investment Banking Analytics team and supports the Global Transaction Banking business. The role focuses on using data, analytics, and rapid proof-of-concept development to solve business problems, identify growth opportunities, surface risks, and improve decision-making across GTB. The successful candidate will partner with business stakeholders to translate questions and pain points into early dashboards, insights, pilots as part of the scalable analytical products in the later stages. While recurring performance reporting provides a baseline, the emphasis is on delivering value-added insights, business recommendations, and reusable analytics capabilities. The role will also help modernize legacy reporting assets, strengthen data quality and business logic, and prepare successful analytical solutions for broader adoption or transition to Finance, Operations, or Technology where appropriate.

Job Responsibilities

  • Strategic Business Partnership & Advisory
    • Build deep expertise in GTB business drivers, including deposits, revenue, liquidity, RAROC, capital, client profitability, pipeline, product performance, and emerging business risks.
    • Partner with business stakeholders to identify analytical opportunities, frame business problems, and convert ambiguous questions into structured analysis and actionable recommendations.
  • Analytics Development & Solution Delivery
    • Conduct data mining, trend analysis, segmentation, variance analysis, and driver-based investigation to uncover revenue opportunities, client behavior patterns, operational gaps, and risk indicators.
    • Develop rapid proof-of-concepts, prototypes, dashboards, and analytical tools to demonstrate value and enable faster, data-driven decisions.
  • Analytical Product Operations & Controls
    • Operationalize recurring analytics products, dashboards, and data pipelines to ensure reliable, timely, and decision-ready insights.
    • Maintain fit-for-purpose quality checks, issue logs, SOPs, and handover documentation to support resilience, auditability, and eventual transition to Finance, Operations, or Technology where appropriate.
  • Insight Storytelling & Decision Support
    • Translate analysis into concise narratives, executive-ready visuals, and business recommendations that explain key drivers, highlight implications, and support management decisions.
    • Develop reusable analytical frameworks for common business questions, such as client growth, revenue leakage, pricing opportunities, balance trends, product performance, and emerging risks.
  • Data Modernization & Scalable Analytics
    • Partner with Business, Finance, Risk, and Technology to develop scalable analytical solutions using approved enterprise tools such as SQL, Power BI, Power Platform, and Databricks.
    • Support the development of governed datasets, reusable semantic models, and AI-ready business definitions so successful prototypes can be scaled, automated, and adopted across GTB.


Job Requirements

  • Proven experience delivering data analytics, management reporting, financial reporting, or performance insights within banking, capital markets, transaction banking, or financial services.
  • Strong understanding of financial performance metrics, including revenue drivers, balance trends, fee income, NII, liquidity, and product/client-level profitability.
  • Ability to produce clear, executive-ready, decision-oriented commentary and explain performance drivers through structured analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience performing KPI and driver decomposition, translating findings into concise insights for senior stakeholders.
  • Advanced SQL and Python capability, including designing robust ETL logic, data validation, and reconciliation controls to ensure data integrity.
  • Hands-on experience building end-to-end analytics solutions using Power Platform tools (e.g., Power BI, Power Automate), from data preparation through automation and reporting.


Nice to Have

  • 5+ years of experience in data analytics, reporting, or financial performance management within banking or financial services.
  • Knowledge of FTP, capital allocation, RAROC, liquidity metrics, or balance sheet performance.
  • Knowledge of transaction banking products, including deposits, payments, cash management, trade finance, working capital solutions, and financial institution services.
  • Experience applying GenAI techniques to accelerate KPI summarization and variance explanations.
  • Familiarity with data governance frameworks, data lineage tools, and cloud-based data platforms.
  • Exposure to Agile delivery methodologies and enterprise data modernization initiatives.
